The Gary Johnson Thread

Gary Johnson is a hippocrite. He was blocking out people from the 3rd party debates, because they were not popular enough. The same basis for him being left out, from the main debates. On top of which his campaign finance is racked in debt. At least Ron Paul, had an actual surplus of cash, because he practices and preaches fiscal conservatism at the same time.

Third party candidates typically have no choice but to run campaigns that get plagued with debt. Gary Johnson doesn't have the fanbase that Ron Paul does (which allowed him to do massive moneybombs and end with a surplus of cash) and no donor base because no major donor is going to give to a third party that will never win.

Personally, I would like Gary to try for the Republican nomination again. With the GOP in disarray, now is the perfect opportunity for us to take over the GOP

He already said he is staying with the LP for life...rather that means running again in 2016 or doing something else, like being PR person...I dunno. I couldn't vote for Johnson as a R...I'm done with the two party system. Unless if the GOP BEGS on FOX NEWS for Gary to run in 2016 as a Republican, and even then I want him to LAUGH IN THEIR FACES.

Whatever...hater being hating. You didn't even vote.

3rd parties can win...or this country is gonna be screwed. Gary got 1.1 Million votes....he now carries the Liberty torch..the LP.......a surge in 2016 will come.

 and don't rain on my parade.

Oh wait, do I lose my avatar or sig now?? Sig, right?

Third parties cannot win. Period. Our electoral system is designed against them to begin with and the two major parties have passed laws and tactics to all but ensure that they won't win.

I'd argue the opposite.

3rd party can't win if they only get 1 or 2% of the popular vote. People will just ignore the numbers.

But with the EC, a 3rd party can focus on a couple of states. And if they can turn them into a 3-way battleground, or even when some, that gives them a lot of potential momentum for the next election. And it forces everyone to take them more seriously.

I was sort of surprised Gary only got 3.5% of New Mexico (although that's still quite an accomplishment). I figured he'd at least get his 5% there. And it makes me wonder what he could have done with some more resources in that state.

No, a third party can't win period. The two major parties have put in place various laws that make it difficult for them to even get on the ballot in the first place, the first past the post electoral system is a winner takes all system which makes it very hard for a smaller party to get a chance to spread their message that a proportional system would allow them to, and if a third party started to show prominence, one of the major parties would just absorb their platform and thus make them no longer a threat.

Ok, so that's where the part needs to start focusing on these next two years. Getting IRV instituted at local levels.

Start getting people used to it, and demystify it, and it'll get easier to implement it at higher and higher levels.

If this is true, you basically said We the People no longer matter and there's no reason to vote, or let alone pay attention to what is happening.

A 3rd party will never get in...i'm sorry to say. They have no chance. We've been lead into believing there is only a right or left....no inbetween.

So more debt and a monetary collapse then? Cool. Sooner or later, that is what R's and D's will get you and I.

I believe you have to educate the masses using entertainment since most won't or even read books on vote and joining a 3rd party:o

Is ETM finally having a mental breakdown? Is he ready to join the dark side :sus

I only know that I'm not having epileptic seizures from that avatar anymore ;)

I honestly think I have mental breakdowns every so often, but no, not having one now :cwink:. And I'm not joining the R's or D's. But no, I would have lost it if he had less than 700K.

I only know that I'm not having epileptic seizures from that avatar anymore ;)

Well, I lost a bet...

Gary has a new picture on his wall. Saying we are the 1% and then it has 1.225 million votes. he has bad info. I only see 1.138 and 1.139 million figures out there. I ask him this tonight on his townhall. AT 9pm. On Vokle. Imma advertising it on here. I stop now. Yep.

Also, lol...-_- I laughed at your joke.

Eh, knee jerk much? Just take time off, relax and come back.

Gary Johnson to retire again from politics?

The fact that the LP is thrilled getting over a million votes is good...if Gary does get out, I imagine Ventura LP 2016? We are on the ballot already in 30 states plus D.C heading into 2016. Ventura wants 50 state access, LP is likely to get that. And yes, we were on the ballot for Johnson in 48 plus D.C., but to stay on that many a party needs a certain %.

Like I said, Johnson and the LP need to start going around and getting IRV implemented locally in time for 2014.
