The Gifted The Gifted General Discussion

I do like how it is only 10 episodes, so there won't be a lot of filler, which seems to be the main issue with some of these superhero shows, including the Netflix ones. Hope it keeps the intensity up the entire season.

I do really hope it's good. And judging by the first reactions, it seems to be.

LSD said she is fine with only Legion and The Gifted and that she doesn't want to over-sature it, but I want at least one more TV show. I want to mutants throughout the whole year.

The Gifted continues to pick up TV franchise networks in countries around the globe which are watching what is in so far of the show and impressed enough to buy the show to air in their countries.

So far they have added Canada, Britain, Brazil, and the Netherlands that I know of, we will see which others drop over the next two weeks.

If the gifted does well then you can bet there will be another tv show.

Now the big newspapers are coming out with their reviews of the show. USA Today calls The Gifted the best show put out by Mavel television as in ever in their view.

The Gifted

Fox, Oct. 2 (Mondays, 9 ET/PT)

Goodness, it's an odd year for Marvel. The company has given its corporate cousin ABC what looks (based on an admittedly incomplete pilot) like the season's worst new series in Marvel's Inhumans, while handing rival Fox the best series it has yet produced.

So what sets apart this X-Men offshoot, about a family on the run from anti-mutant agents, from those failures? Stakes. The pilot and the actors immediately make you care about these characters and their plight, and make you eager to see what happens next. For this company's TV division, that's a marvel.

Was very wary about this show initially since it seemed very rote, but everything we've heard from it is positive. It's got 9 more episodes to fill out so hopefully they can keep it up! It'd be a marvel to have every X-Men related property this year be critically acclaimed.

I wonder if he saw Legion because that's the gold standard right now.

well i look forward more than ever to see pilot which for now at least is last onhands involved by bryan singer in X-men universe.hopefully the other 9 episodes can live up to pilot.

i certinly hope fox doesn't force the gifted to be more than 10.shorter seasons will turn out better.

The Walking Dead started out their first season with 6 episodes and their second with 13 and their third with 16 and stayed at 16 and I felt while their budgets increased (and ratings increased alot by several factors) their quality overall of each episode stayed the same or increased in areas.

Then again I am a child of a different era where just about every show got 20 something episode seasons and if you had a episode of say Star Trek TNG that was more down time then Q sending the ship off to fight the Borg it wasn't the end of the world.

Anyone know when and on what channel this will be out on in the UK?

Great to hear that it will be only ten episodes. Not too many to finish and would leave me wanting for more if its good.

Sage looks nothing special in the pics though. It looks like she just rolled out of bed. Someone give them flaterring costumes!

10 episodes is the perfect number for a season. It's sad most network shows can't follow the same suit.

They need to make more for syndication purposes and some only get shorter order because its either it won't likely get high ratings or they'd fill a vacant timeslot of a show that is currently in a hiatus.

I hope it gets great ratings for the pilot and they add episodes to the season as happened with Lucifer this year. The creative team of Lucifer decided they didn't want to use those extra episodes for the season as they felt they had the right mix, tempo and number for their story and they added them to their next season number.

There is no right answer for how many episodes a show needs in my view, I don't pretend to have a perfect number for any show, as I believe its entirely up to what the creative team feels they can come up with and execute well along with budgetary limits.
