sounds like he has a new contract to me...

Yeah, there's really no question now that he's still with the company. All that's up in the air now is how long his off-TV vacation is going to last.

WWE games even put the video up on there Facebook!LOL

Haha, the way that crowd popped when he came through the doors was awesome.

Not too long, I think. This Monday, I expect that Punk will do something to disrupt the WWE Championship match, to render it a no-contest. I suspect it will be something game-changing, along the lines of the Austin beer truck kind of thing.

"You know where to find me and I'm sure Stephanie has my number."

lol

Comic con was the perfect place to have this play out too.Whoever was at that panel will always remember that.

I do wonder what Hunter had to say after Punk left. I wonder if it vaguely resembled that scene in Thor where the feast table gets overturned....

That works for me. On the one hand, I think crowning a new champion is dumb because it makes Punk leaving with the belt less meaningful, but on the other hand it would be interesting if the new belt came to be known as sort of the "Company Man's" championship, and was regarded as "fake" by the faces in the company.

For example, put it on the Miz or somebody, and have everybody know it's worthless--but have Miz and the company trying to convince everyone that it's the real deal, while everyone knows that Punk's belt is the real deal.

Possible spoiler for the Raw WWE title match next week. On the radio today, I heard an ad for the upcoming Raw Live show in Upper Marlboro, MD, and it advertised [blackout]Cena vs Del Rio[/blackout] for the WWE title.

Or, since Triple H will be "in charge", he might change the tournament outcome. The winner will face CM Punk for the championship. . . . And I hope they finally get rid of that fugly Cena belt.

There's a card for September here in Puerto Rico and it has that same match. Since card is subject to change, maybe they will face each other but not for the WWE title.

That's exactly why I think Miz is the perfect guy to get this belt and feud with a returning Punk.

But if Punk is name dropping Rey, then that might be an indicator that he's gonna win.

And with that spoiler, it sounds like there is something else in store as well.

That said, if this whole Punk angle leads to Zack Ryder on TV... :(

Ryder probably wont rise higher than lower mid card. At least he's more entertaining than CrapItyer and Thwagger.

If the best thing I can say about Zack Ryder is that he's more entertaining than McIntyre and Jack Swagger, then I really don't see how he warrants all this hype that he's getting.

This coming from a guy who think's Miz is the best thing to happen to professional wrestling :whatever:

No question that Punk has signed a new WWE contract, otherwise he would have been escorted out by security within seconds.

He doesn't deserve the hype really, but I enjoy some of his videos. He doesn't deserve a big push though.

Of course he doesn't deserve a huge push right from the start, but just for his persistence and appearing to actually give a damn about his job he deserves a fair chance. If he makes the most of it and takes off and can do well for himself, great, if not, at least WWE gave someone who tries an honest chance.

What I love about Ryder goes beyond how much entertainment I get from his videos. The guy clearly loves the hell out of wrestling and his job. 95% of guys in his spot sit back and wait and do nothing, probably complaining about it, then complain when they get released. He's doing what all the legends like HBK and Austin say they should do: think outside the box, get yourself over, and make people take notice. His work should be rewarded.

I'll give him points for creativity for his methods. I just have yet to see one of those True Long Island Story videos that I thought was any good.

But he definitely gets points for creativity. I put Zack Ryder in the "almost entertaining" category. Maybe he can do it someday. But from what I've seen so far, I just don't see it.

Not necessarily. Maybe he bought a ticket :)

There's definitely some type of agreement in play here. I think what's great is that Punk is seemingly getting the time off but still carrying on with the angle.

This is great stuff. The fans are really rallying in support of Punk. I loved hi slast line about Stephanie having his number :hehe:

This. There's a new world out there of technology and means to getting yourself out there and sell your character compared to even back when Austin and Rock were top dogs. It was only a matter of time until someone took advantage of it, and Ryder was the one to come up with it and so far has been successful with the fans. It's in the WWE's court to take advantage of what he's done.

Nobody is saying that Zack deserves to get a huge push. People are saying he deserves a chance to sink or swim on TV.
