CM Punk crashed WWE's panel discussion this afternoon at the San Diego Comic-Con, featuring Triple H, Rey Mysterio and WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart.

Punk announced himself via bullhorn and then, with WWE Championship in tow, took to the designated question-asking microphone and began to speak. The Straight Edge Superstar took exception to WWE attempting to crown a new champion on Raw and then challenged Mysterio, or anyone else who wanted to be champ, to head out to Chicago to face him.

Punk then also asked Triple H and WWE writer Brian Gewirtz why Zack Ryder wasn't on television. Triple H, in what appeared to be a kayfabe response, told Punk that things had changed on Raw and there was a new regime. He told Punk to give him a call. Punk responded by telling Hunter that he was sure Stephanie had his number.

I can't believe how well WWE are playing this angle. I just hope they don't rush it.

If Punk is going to have any great rival its Cena. If Punk is the guy to the marched to the beat of his own drum Cena is the corporate creation and the company man. If Punk is rule breaking in your face rock then Cena is corporate pop/hip hop.

Every great rivalry needs one guy who balances out the other or who can match him at every turn. Hogan had Savage, Hart had Michaels, Austin had Rock. Punk is a performer who can more than match Cena on the mic with en edge and brutally passionate honestly as well as counter Cenas strength and will with his own anarchistic will and mat abilities.

Miz really couldn't do any of that and instead would look like the undeserving chickensh** who couldn't get the job done head to head.

Even Piper could match Hogan with his ferocity, his tenacity, and his cunning. 25 years later he still has an in your face bluntness that one can't turn away from.

If there is to be a new great rivalry BOTH guys need to captivate in as many ways possible. Greatness vs greatness is the key to that. You could feel how compelling Edge was and you could see how good he was in every area of his work. Thats why he was the perfect foil for Cena. They complimented each other.

Face Punk vs.heel Miz would be a great rivalry. Punk's fundamental wrestling abilities could easily have him feud with anyone, but this one would work well because of their personalities.

I think this feud would be a great way to elevate Cena's character more. They just need to let him loose so he doesn't sound so damn corny. Like when he interrupted Punk and Vince during the contract negotiation. It could have been cool for Cena to finally speak his mind, but that goofy moment talking about how he wants to stomp Vince's face and wipe dog poop on it really shows the issues with his character.

Cena should be a guy who speaks his mind, but where he and Punk are separated is that Punk doesn't care about the rules while Cena does. I've long wanted Cena to go back to being heel, but he can stay face and have more to his character than being a caricature of the 80s. They need to let Cena loose as much as they gave Punk a chance. This is the chance.

Miz would be THE rivalry - my bromance with Mike aside, I don't think he's a "carry the company" type of guy that this rivalry people are wanting would entail - but I think for Punk's return feud, feuding with a "fake" champion to "unify" the WWE championship, that would fit Miz well. I think Miz would be a good return feud for Punk, and then he'd go on to bigger and better things.

I can see Del Rio cashing in soon and taking the title from Miz (provided he wins),Punk vs Del Rio fued wouldn't be so bad.

As just a rivalry I think Punk vs Miz could be great. And if Miz (the real person) takes it as a chance to soak up all he can from Punk and learn from him (everything from wrestling a match to cutting a promo) then it can only do good for him.

Morrison/Punk had a great series of matches in the summer of 2007.If Morrison can get better on the mic I'd be all for it.

Punk would destroy Morrison on the mic. I like Morrison but he will never be in the same league promo wise as Punk.The match would be great though.

F4WOnline.com has reported that according to several sources within WWE who would need to know Sin Cara's status with the company, a decision has yet to be made concerning his future despite rumors and speculation.

Following Cara's WWE suspension, there were numerous reports indicating that he might not be brought back the company/TV, however it appears that may have been a premature speculation as it's unknown at this time what WWE plans to do after Sin Cara serves his 30 day suspension.

It should be noted, as we reported yesterday, that WWE officials were reportedly furious when they learned that Cara spoke out publicly on his suspension. Again, no word on whether or not this has affected his WWE status.

I'm telling you... this has GOT to be the most positive wrestling "forum" I visit... everywhere else I go people complain and whine about everything. Heck, most on WrestleZone still believe that Punk will only be a flavor of the month due to him "killing Nexus as a group" which... is crazy IMHO, Nexus was dead LONG before Punk "lead" them... If anything he gave them a momentary burst of speed.

I'm not saying everyone has to like Punk... but to not find ANY enjoyment in this? Really?

I'd rather have Punk work with a returning Chris Jericho instead of The Miz. Jericho does everything Miz does but 1000 times better. If anything a lot of Miz's act as champion was watered down heel Jericho.

Jericho brought back the idea of the finely dressed arrogant champion that we haven't seen in a few years and took it to a new level. Then Miz just did a poor rehash of it.

Jericho can match Punk in the ring AND on the mic. Plus Punk being put over by Jericho would mean a whole lot more. Punk vs Jericho ladder match? Tell me that wouldn't be gold.

People will ALWAYS complain about something. Even if it's something great people will find something to go after even if it's the most miniscule thing in a promo, match, or segment. Bottom line right now is this is the first time as an adult that WWE has me on the edge of my seat excitingly guessing what may happen next, even if this ride ends soon bottom line is I had a hell of a ride as it is after so many years of REAL garbage. Sure there were some nuggets of gold every now and then but right now IMO were getting big F'n bars of Gold and the potential of a new era.

Great promo by Daniel Bryan on smackdown this week,almost sort of a work shoot telling Cole that he didn't deserve (Cole) to have a match at WM,and how Michael has been burying (he did indeed use the term "burying") him on the mic since day one.
