The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Hans Zimmer Score thread - Part 2

Haha nah, film composers do it all the time. When you listen to a lot of classical music, you learn to accept its influence in film scores. John Williams and James Horner are NOTORIOUS for doing it too. Never heard Zimmer do it to this degree. lol.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I gues I'm just a little surprised by Zimmer to do it to this degree, too.

I think there was an interview with Zimmer where he talked about inspirations (very specific ones) for the ASM2 soundtrack, but I've lost it.

You wouldn't happen to know which one I'm talking about?

I don't, but I'd be very interested to see it.

I'm Goblin sounds like the main theme from TDKR. Some of the dubstep stuff reminds me the one dubstep remix they did for TDKR.

We're Best Friends makes me want to cry a bit.

I thought that the score was horrible. Perhaps it'll grow on me like Thor 2, but regardless the Electro tone was distracting and uninspired.

Oh wow, thanks. This is golden. I love seeing the main theme being played live. Also Hans on the piano, and the gentle theme rendition of 'You're That Spider Guy'. :hrt:

Didn't notice You're That Spider Guy.

Time stamps? :wow:

8.05 to 8.23 on that Youtube video.

It is an extended version of 3.45 to 3.54 hear during You're That Spider Guy.

The more you listen to the score, the better it gets and it works so well with the movie. Perfect! "You're that Spider Guy" just gives me goosebumps. Such a wonderful piece of art. Also, 'My Enemy' is bone chilling! WOW!

Other tracks I adore are 'I'm moving to England', 'I Chose you', 'Best Friends' and 'You need me'. 'The Rest of my Life' is so beautiful and sad at the same time :csad:

Love the movie btw and going to see it for the 3rd time today. My friends who weren't fans of the 1st one, love this one :woot:

Yeah the tracks are even more powerful in the context of the film

Agreed. For me, as soon as I saw TASM1, I went straight across to the B&N to pick up the soundtrack and hearing the score, the scenes from the film came into my head and while I enjoy listening to the TASM2 soundtrack now, I'm gonna enjoy it more when I can finally see the scenes from the film.

Oh, yeah, that was pretty awesome.

Man, a lot of stuff here that didn't make it onto the OST.

Can't wait until the complete score leaks.

I wonder what song is playing when Peter meets Gwen in Union Square, while crossing the street, any idea?

I listened to the soundtrack and overall I think it's disappointing. Han's spider man theme pales in comparison to Elfman's spider man theme from the Rami movies. The only stand out track for me was Electro's remix theme.

Electro's dubstep theme also reminded me too much of TDKR.

Just watched the movie and obviously, the score with it. Loved it. Love Spidey's theme. Actually bumping the score while in bed typing this haha.

I really like Electro's theme, the talking is great.

Goblin's music reminds me of Crysis 2.

For HarryGob I think it goes:

Sum Total - transformation
I'm Goblin - the clocktower fight
Let Her Go - Gwen's fall

The Harry suite has an interesting 'intellectual' vibe about it too.

The score works for the movie
I don't like the Electro song, it's not to my liking
