The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Hans Zimmer Score thread - Part 2

The more you listen to the score, the better it gets and it works so well with the movie. Perfect! "You're that Spider Guy" just gives me goosebumps. Such a wonderful piece of art. Also, 'My Enemy' is bone chilling! WOW!

Completely agree with you. One of the best Comic Book movie OSTs yet, and there have been SO many great ones, even in the last 2 years!

Its my Spider-man, i gotta say, It clicks with me finally. I HATED the score to ASM1, but 2 completely changes my opinion on the horn theme overall.

Sucks "Gone, Gone, Gone" isn't on the OST. Really cool interesting choice for the scene.

I really like Electro's theme, the talking is great.

Goblin's music reminds me of Crysis 2.

Woah... Can't believe I didn't make that connction.

It's crazy similar.

There is some excellent music left off the official CD, but I don't think that much. Still, I'm hoping for the scoring sessions. I know there's a particular badass 'Zimmer' cue when Richard shoots out the plane window at the start. The score during the truck chase is my favourite. It went together so well with the visuals, and that's when I really knew Hans hit it out of the park.

Dude. Yes.

And the whole "parents" theme is only like in one track on the OST.

I can't express how much I want the complete score and/or scoring sessions to leak.

There's one particular moment in the film/score which is bittersweet. Gwen in the taxi, stopping, looking at the love you message on the bridge and getting swept off her feet by Spider-Man. The sun is going down in many ways, for their relationship and the day itself. It's one of their last few tender moments before it merges into night. 'We're Best Friends' worked amazing there.

I thought that was a Harry scene. Do you mean I chose you?

I wish they used the "Zimmerized" version of Horner's theme from the SDCC footage.

Is this online anywhere? The only footage I've seen was that trailer from the McDonalds (IIRC?) event.

Saw the film last night, I didn't think much of this score, especially compared to Man of Steel. I can only remember Spidey's theme, Electro's theme and that comical piece they used a couple times.

Listened to a few bits of it again and I'm liking it, so hopefully it'll grow on me! I've had Spidey's theme in my head ever since, but I was hoping they'd do more with it. "Earth" from Man of Steel is the benchmark for me with Zimmer at the moment!

I really like, "Gone, Gone, Gone". I thought it was weird at first but now I understand what they were going for. Or at least, it molds well in my head. It's got a tiny bit of that feel of a summer song, added to a summer movie? If that makes sense.

Also really love the score in the opening titles. That fast paced trickly stuff. That's "There He Is" right? Can anyone confirm?

Yup, a slowed and pitched down version of There He Is is played during the opening.

Personally, I think it's pretty badass.

Marc did a great job, as usual, with the music choices again

I must say "I'm Goblin." is the best track by far. The sheer desperation forming from the music is completely awesome to me that is. It's just good all around.

I love it. It's the perfect "get ready" song to pump you up. Reminds me of the Raimi Spidey opening titles. In a good way.

ARRRRRRRRGH! the feels!,this song plays in my head everytime i see the RT score,:oldrazz::csad:

I like how Spider-Man films have sequences with background music playing, ala Raindrops and Funky Soul. Webb has continued the tradition.

I love it too. Sadly, I've listen to it too many times now. I've worn it out. :(

And is there a bad way of something you of the Raimi opening titles? Haha.

And that's why I don't bump the score that much until I've seen it in the theaters at least three times lol.

Wait what about the Raimi series? I just love the opening titles...Marvel and Columbia Pictures card. The score is so gooesbumpy. Sort of intense.

You get that same feel with TASM2's opening titles.

Yeah TASM had this "soft", "growing up" kind of score to it, the songs seemed sweeter if that makes sense? Captured that high-school innocence quite well, but also had some darker stuff for the Connors scenes.

TASM2 seems like more of a powerful, upbeat track whilst still retaining that sort of soft feel in parts.

Both soundtracks are really in that sort of area I can REALLY enjoy, very powerful stuff, and it fits into the context of the movie very well

Oh. Yeah, I should probably ease up on listening to the OST, too.

Anyway, I messed up that last sentence pretty bad. I blame my phone. What I was referring to, was you saying that the ASM2 opening titles score reminded you of the Raimi opening titles in "a good way". I was trying to ask if there's a bad way? :oldrazz:
