Is Zimmer seriously the composer for ASM2!!? Is this 100% confirmed?

I recall one user said they wanted grit in the Spider-Man scores. I think they're bound to get some of that with Zim. :D

Oh man, this is awesome! I fell in love with MOS's soundtrack. You could feel the hope when listening to it.

Zimmer is going to make people cry with this score. I'm all about emotion in this next movie.

There are some beautiful Zimmer scores that are probably totally unknown in the US, like this one:

DAMMIT!

Sorry, but I really wanted Horner to stay. :(

All I can hope is that Zimmer's score is less bare-bones than what he whipped up for the Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel.

Webb is talking about a collaborator with Zimmer. Imagine a Horner/Zimmer tandem O.o

I'm very happy to hear this. Horner really had no idea how to tackle Spider-Man.

I really liked Zimmer's work on MOS so I don't have a prob at all. Sure, I liked a bunch of stuff in TASM by Horner but I'm open to something new. A lot of you said that you hope Zimmer kind of incorporates Horner's main theme, which would be nice but like I said I'm open to something new as well.

Honestly Hans Zimmer does great scores but i havn´t heard anything he has done that fits Spidey, if someone does know a song please share it

Proof he can do light, even whimsical:

I'm not defending this choice or shooting it down. If he is the sole composer--which isn't how I'm reading the news--he can, in fact, do things other than the dark and gritty Batstuff.

I love Zimmer's work on more whimsical stuff like As Good as it Gets. What I feel, though, is like whenever Zimmer scores a live-action blockbuster nowadays, he tends to get rid of the nuances in favor of SOUNDSOUNDSOUND. That approach is popular in some circles, but I feel disappointed because I know he's capable of greatness.

Basically, I wish we'll get the Zimmer of James L. Brooks and Nancy Meyers films. The Zimmer who writes fantastic music instead of bare bones music.

i now he can do more , even little heart felt moments just havn´t seen some piece that fits spidey, i know he´ll do great because he makes awesome scores...

Zimmer's going to be a busy guy.

Scoring this movie and probably the sequels.
Likely scoring the Batman/Superman film and whatever follows.
Whatever else pops up like Interstellar.

That user was me :woot: Horner had great stuff, but some things there were a tad too "fairy tale" if you catch my drift

Anyway, I have heard a rumor that he's infact working with someone. When he joined Kung Fu Panda 2 he did the score with the previous composer from Kung Fu Panda 1, so it's quite possible that we'll see Zimmer/Horner team up

I like the fairy tale type of score TASM had :(

Horner was horrible. This is good news for me.

I really don't get you people who thought Horner was horrible.

I mean, mind explaining why, at least?
