The Dark Knight The Heath Ledger Award Nominations/Wins Thread

Glad to see Heath won the SAG. That's a very good indicator of his chances for the Oscar although by no means is it a certainty.

Since the beggining of December he has one every single award including Golden Globes and SAG...i don't see how could anyone win over him.

It's a lock as much as Bardem's win last year was...probably even more since at least last year Casey Afleck was somewhat of a competition.

This is year is all Heath.

Congrats to Heath for the SAG win. I'm glad that his peers honored his work with this award. Hopefully this momentum will lead right into the Oscars...

Eddie Murphy won both a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for Dreamgirls, but didn't win the Oscar. Also, Johnny Depp won for Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of The Black Pearl, and didn't win the Oscar.

It's a great achievement, but I wouldn't consider it a guarantee that Ledger has the Oscar in the bag.

All the same, congratulations Heath for this great achievement for this well-deserving performance. And thank you Gary Oldman for that heartwarming speech.

First post being updated now.

funny thing is that if heath were alive, he wouldn't have cared if he won these awards. He was absolutely thrilled he didn't get the oscar for brokeback. The dude totally hated the whole awards scene and the people that attended them. It was all a big joke to him (no pun intended).

Anyone has a link where i can see Heath wins SAG this year? I missed the show :(

Also guys.

Heath Ledger has become the first actor to win a posthumous Screen Actors Guild award.

Congrats to Heath on his much desserved SAG win tonight!

Eddie Murphy won ONLY those 2 awards...Heath has won them all and plus the hype for Heath's performance is 50 times bigger than the hype of Murphy.

Absolutelly no comparison there.

I know people are sceptical mainly because of the Best Pic/Director snubs but TDK was also snubbed at The Globes and SAG and Heath won without trouble.

This is awards is as locked as is it gets...the best performance of the year, all the awards won, hype,no suitable opponent...

He's getting it.

If we ignore the useless Scream Award that he lost (Most Memorable Mutilation), Heath has only lost four Best Supporting Actor awards. He's won everything else. EVERYTHING.

And I'm fairly sure that I have the complete list of awards (to date).

I'm sure it will show up on youtube. If it's any help I know the SAG awards will replay on TNT tonight at 10pm central time.

Yes you do,great job on that btw :cwink:

Heath's sweep is biggest one in the last 15 years as far as best supporting actor is concerned.

Last year Javier Bardem lost 10 awards and his awards run is considered a complete domination.

Awesome

seeing gary oldman holding an award in front of the joker picture was ****ing awesome.

A damn shame heath cant stand up there. a damn ****ing shame. Oldman is great though.

hey Kargo... unlike Murphy, Heath didn't have a trailer for a new comedy movie coming out next month.... like Murphy did with Norbit!!

Thumbs up for Heath!

Looking all over for the speech now.

Is this the most award winning performance of all-time yet?

I didnt find it on youtube.. i found a clip of Meryl Streep winning Best Actress, but not one with Heath winning best support actor... :(

Coming up within the next week:

Wednesday, February 4th: London Film Critics Awards.
-There's a good chance that Ledger won't win this one, as he is nominated in the "Actor of the Year" category, alongside Sean Penn and Mickey Rourke. I'd honestly be surprised if he won this award.

Sunday, February 8th: BAFTA Awards.

Heath has won best supporting actor at the BAFTAs

Indeed he did. Hopefully someone who watches the taping of the ceremony later tonight will record and post it online.

Updating list now.

I personally doubt it is THE most award-winning performance of all time, but I imagine it's well up there.

It's definitely the first comic book character to get this level of recognition.
