Zauriel has always walked the razor edge between acceptable to sucky character. Maybe the fate helmet will choose him and he'll finally distance himself from suckitudeness.

I'd have to agree. If it's any one of those guys, I'd prefer Ibis over the rest. Zauriel seems an odd choice to be Dr. Fate and I'll not be happy if it turns out to be Black Alice, which it'll probably end up with anyway.

Shadowpact wasn't bad, it's just that asides from the first issue and the last part of the last issue, it completely lacked the magic that Day of Vengeance had. And that made it somewhat boring.

Simple enough concept, put that power into a teenaged girl and you have something interesting.

I'll have to find a way to write her into my Dr.Fate story.

I'm excited to see a Dr.Fate ongoing. Now my story won't have to be a mini series.

Um, NO, I didn't. You guys were talking about names. Ibis does indeed suck more than Zauriel does. What is ibis anyway? Isn't that the sound cartoons make when they dribble their lower lip to indicate insanity?

Whereas Zauriel could be redeemed by the helmet, Ibis is far too gone into the suckiness realm to even be a feasible option. That's probably why they're giving the sceptre to a new kid and he's the one having the run in with the helmet. Black Alice has her own gimmick, giving her the helmet is overkill. I don't know who the Sorcerer is...Sargon the Sorcerer, maybe? He's dead. Zauriel would be the best choice. Zauriel would berate the helmet for treating "his people" like slaves years ago and the helmet would constantly hold the witch trials thing against Zauriel.

What's wrong with Ibis? He's an immortal Egyptian prince with a magic wand that can alter matter. There's nothing inherently flawed or spectacular about him. He's bassically a clean slate.
