don't they refer to the Myers home in part I or II, as well?

Both actually. Loomis stakes out the house in Part 1 waiting for Michael to return. In Part 2, after the bodies of the murdered teens are found and news of Myers' escape from the sanitarium is released, people in the neighborhood start trashing the place in anger.

Just watched Santa's Slay and the 1974 classic Black Christmas. Santa's Slay was a lot of fun. Over the top violence and very humorous.

Black Christmas was as awesome as ever. I only have a minor problem with the ending. Why the Hell did they leave Jess (Olivia Hussey's character, the sole survivor) alone in the house? Shouldn't they have sent her to the hospital? Not checking the attic makes sense (that's the crime labs job, not the police). But why leave her alone in the house? Just my opinion.

Since I saw Santa's Slay with some friends for a bad movie night (along with Curse of the Devil, Black Samurai Agent of DRAGON, Monster Man, The Beast of Yucca Flats, and Manos: The Hands of Fate), I went out of the way to buy the movie and play it every December. Might break it out Thanksgiving weekend since it's so late and overlaps with Hanukkah this year. Make it a special evening with the Festival of Lights, a menorah to the throat, and all the fixin's.

You just gotta love any movie where Fran Drescher's head gets set on fire.

I'm having withdrawls from my constant horror watching, so I threw in The Birds to calm me a bit.

The Last Days On Mars is a available on VOD. I'm going to watch it tomorrow.

I had too many movies to watch over Halloween, so I'm just gonna watch them anyway.

Starting a 'Friday the 13th' marathon soon.

When I was in my mid-20's and the From Crystal Lake to Manhattan boxset came out all I did literally every few nights was rewatch those films over and over, collectively it is my favorite series through and through, fun times.

Just caught Mama and actually really liked it.

It's story was unique for the subgenre, the whole cast was good, the look of it was impressive, most of the scares worked and I liked the ballsy ending. The CGI for Mama didn't always work but overall it was a very good flick imo.

I've managed to watch the first two Friday the 13th movies and I rate them pretty much the same.

It's been at least 7 years since I've sat and watched them all, or in a weekend but I'm enjoying it so far. Plus I'll get to watch the 2009 remake which I haven't seen since it was released in the cinema.

Out of curiosity, how did you rate them?

Personally, I give Friday The 13th a 9 out of 10, and Part 2 gets an 8 out of 10, maybe 8.5 (I just can't bring myself to rate a sequel higher than the original)

I gave them both 7.5/10

In my opinion, the first two movies were great, but I like Parts III and IV much better.

Agreed, I didn't think it was special, but I thought it was ok and definitely had a story to tell unlike most movies. The female lead was really cold, but hey, not all people are nice people.

Parts 3 & 4 had the better, or at least more imaginative, kills. Plus Part 3 has the introduction of the now iconic Hockey mask. But Parts 1 & 2 had much better pacing, with a much better job of building up the tension and suspense.

Yeah I can't argue with that.

Just finished 'The Final Chapter'. Would have been interesting to see where the Tommy storyline would have went if they stuck with it.

What's the timeline of 2, 3 and 4? They all seem to fall within the same month.

I've always seen it as new camps opening around the lake more than a time lapse and a new season.

Actually, they all fall within the same weekend. Part 2 takes part on Friday The 13th, Part 3 on Saturday The 14th, and Part 4 takes place on Sunday the 15th and Monday the 16th.

I saw Sinister when it came out in the theater, I enjoyed it a lot but the ending is pretty standard.

I thought Sinister was a letdown. A major letdown. The home movies worked but for some reason the rest of the film just couldn't pull me in like Insidious or The Conjuring or even Mama. It repeated the same gag over and over again. Ethan Hawk slowly walking around his dark house without even attempting to turn on a light only to have something mildly creepy happen. The only good creepy moment that wasn't a home movie was the "children" part. The finale also came out of nowhere and felt rushed as all hell. Mr. Boogie himself looking more like a wrestler than a scary apparition.

5/10. it started off promising but fell into blandland pretty quickly.

I didn't like Sinister either. I thought it was a weaker film than Insidious and The Conjuring.

Sinister was far Superior to Insidious and Conjuring. I'm watching Candyman now. I've finished the first hour and will wrap it up later. Starts out good then drags and gets boring and nothing I haven't seen before. Pretty average movie.

Hmmm interesting why do you rate sinister so highly. One thing i do love about the video tape scenes are the music they used. Very erie, disturbing, mournful music. Probs one of the best pieces ive heard in a horror movie . Made me feel very uncomftable.

The score is the only exceptional thing about Sinister, imo.

Yea it really was. I agree about the ending though Gremlin it totally flipped the other side of the coin. :whatever: whats with wan and his posessed children i know kids have been a target in horrors these days steming back to Nightmare on elm street maybe even before that. I dont know guys its becoming abit cliche now ,in every horror film ive seen this year its about children being posessed or playing with spirits. I guess its the times we live in.
