I finally watched Digging Up the Marrow, I'd describe as found footage style mock documentary. I actually think it would have been a good idea just to make a normal horror film about a character who discovers this thing they call the Marrow. But I guess Adam Green wanted to do something a little different and credit to him for that. He definitely made something unique and interesting but I don't think he excecuted quite aswell as he maybe could have. One of the most disappointing things about this film was the ending, it was abit of a letdown and I wonder if the documentary format he went for is why he couldn't get a nailed on ending. To be honest I'm not sure exactly what was supposed to have happened at the end but maybe that was the intent. All in all I'd say it's a solid movie and would recommen it but I'm not sure it's going to have much rewatch value.

Has anyone else seen this yet?

Looking forward to watching it. I wasn't a huge fan of the Hatchet movies but this looks quite interesting.

It Follows was released here on Friday, so hopefully I'll get to check it out soon. Really hyped for that one.

The Hybrid also known as Scintilla was good low budget film.

Well shot, some suspense and good acting courtesy of a solid group of actors including Antonia Thomas (Misfits), Jumayn Hunter (Attack the Block), Beth Winslet (sister of Kate), John Lynch (The Fall) Craig Conway (Dog Soldiers) and Ned Dennehy (Peaky Blinders).

I think the last "new" horror film I saw was American Mary. I don't know,but I'm just not into horror films from the last decade or so. They all seem the same to me. I am however a HUGE fan of the 70's and 80's. Some great stuff from those decades!

The film was originally scheduled to be released in the United States on September 5, 2014 by Open Road Films, but was pulled from distribution less than a month before its intended release due to financial difficulties with the production company Worldview Entertainment. Currently, the film remains indefinitely delayed.

Has anyone seen Adam Green's 'Scary Sleepover' series? The first episode was with Kane Hodder. It was pretty good and seems like quite a cool idea overall. New episodes are posted every Friday apparently. I can't post a link because of swearing but you can find it on most horror websites.

I know most people loved that movie, but I didn't find it all too great. I loved the opening, but after a while it feels more torture porn horror than telling a really good story.

Just watched Digging Up the Marrow.

It wasn't bad, but some horror sites hyped this up way too much. There are some great looking fx, but we just don't get to see enough of the monsters. It really focuses on Ray Wise's 'Dekker' character much more than providing any real scares or thrills, which I didn't have a problem with, but overall it's more talk than terror.

I really liked it and I remember being so disturbed by it. I don't disagree with Kane though that after a while, it became more of a torture porn. I would still recommend it!

I watched The Pyramid earlier and it's quite awful. People go into a pyramid, get lost yadda yadda... yawn. The CG is terrible, even in dark scenes it's noticeably bad.

It is like someone is trying to create a found footage trapped underground supernatural horror sub-genre with As Above So Below, The Pyramid and a couple of other movies I forget the name of.

The idea of setting a horror film in these settings is good but the execution has been bad.

Yeah, it was quite strange because it started it off like a found footage/P.O.V style then at towards the end it just turned into a normal movie. I wasn't a fan at all.

Watched the Eli Roth produced Clown, thought it was dreadful. Such a disappointment after such a great trailer, it was pretty boring, not scary, badly acted, poorly written and down right stupid at times (even for a little horror movie).
