I was listening to this podcast yesterday and the people were saying that Lenny Kravitz's character seemed to subtly be into Katniss so they should have made him gay to avoid that.
I didn't get that vibe at all, he CLEARLY cared for Katniss and was concerned for her..Collins has described his character such that since he is a "stylist" he has this ability to peer through the superficial and see what really matters. If anything all I got was that he was a true friend to Katniss, more so than Haymitch or even Peeta to an extent. There was a genuine emotional connection that didn't stray into any riskier territory.
She is described as having dark brown skin in the books. So how is that an arbitrary change? Either Rue is black, indian, or a dark hispanic based off her description. The author chose black which fit her original description. Where did the change happen?
I only read half the book and I noticed that he wasn't described as any race really. I just didn't like Lenny K in the role because he has all the acting talent of a zombie.
I still can't buy Josh Hutcherson as Jennifer Lawrence's love interest............ i just can't....
Maybe it's his personality. For example, there has been strange love pairs, like Shia Lebeuf and Megan Fox, UNREALISTIC right, but in the movie it works, because how Shia's portrayed as Sam, but with Hutcherson's Peeta, there is this personality where he isn't man enough for her.
Maybe it's Jennifer Lawrence, she is too womanly to portray Katniss.....?? NOT DOGGING JENNIFER, she did incredible and definitely the best part of the movie.
But this is the only thing that bothered me, that in the movie (definitely works in the books), in a visual interpretation, Jennifer and Josh doesn't look right.
So, I don't know what it is. I can't overlook. In real life, Jennifer is 21, and Josh is 19, and they are both the same height according the IMDB. So, in pics, it looks weird since Jennifer towers Josh lol
I'm not dogging on the film but
out of curiosity, I looked more into the first book, and read that Katniss was pretending to be interested in Peeta........ which i was happy, but than i got more curious-er and than i read that Peeta and Katniss get's married .......... and i was like
So, if this is true, i will be weirded out throughout the next two flicks.
Rue character was the only other tributes who's description I vividly remember other than Katniss. Who are these numbnuts who are upset at her race despite having read the book?

1st question: I don't remember how it occurred in the book, but Thresh may have overheard Clove's taunting during the Clove/Katniss struggle.
2nd question: They were separated from the very beginning of the game and may have not seen each other since. The same kind of applies with Katniss/Peeta for part of the Games.

I forgot how the film skipped on the girl servant who got her tongue cut out. But I understand because the girl's backstory was told through the pros. unless her backstory was explained by Cinna or Haymitch.
I love how ABC Family thinks this is relevant. Fans of the movie won't care because they will already own the movie by that point and anyone else who was interested in seeing it will have seen it already via Netflix or some type of on demand service.
Not necessarily. I own all of the Twilight movies released thus far, and I still like to occasionally watch the first movie when it comes on FX. Same with the Harry Potter movies.
