I didn't hate Spider-Man 3 by any means, but I can understand why people are mourning. I saw Spider-Man 1, and I was blown away. I saw Spider-Man 2, and I was blown even more away. I saw Spider-Man 3, and I was satisfied. Big difference this time around. Spider-Man 3 could have been one of the best freakin' movies ever made. Instead, it was just good, and that is disappointing.
It's a great thing to not be a huge Venom fan right now, because I think I'd be in a deep and dark depression right now if I was one. If Doc Ock (my favorite) had received the same treatment as Venom, I would have been extremely displeased.
I will be seeing this movie again, because I think I HAVE to see it again. The rowdy and buzzed audience practically ruined the experience for me last night. I am going to see this once the crowds die down so I can see this without obnoxious commentary to kill the mood.
Anyway, I'm not trying to be a defensive fangirl, but I do NOT point fingers at Sam Raimi right now. I'm pointing them at the PRODUCERS. Sam Raimi had the right idea before, but the producers felt that they needed to fix something that was not even close to being broken.
Avi Arad, you better watch your back, man. You've pissed off fanboys countless times, but this time around, you did it with Venom. Seriously, dude. Watch. Your. Back. Screwing with Venom makes it personal for a lot of Spider-Man fans.
