The "I hated Spider-Man 3" Thread!

3 years....Quarter Billion dollars....yet we end up with this....I don't get it....

I hate the fact that the basic things that could have made this movie even satisfactory were not there
its not hard to keep corniness, to a level that is well..overboard, Franco as good Harry was horrible, his acting was worse than some of the worst stuff Ive seen, and at the same time Franco is a good actor just watch City by the Sea
I dont get it I DONT
the basic fundementals in a low budget movie lacked in this movie
there was hardly any character development
Im so frustrated

Umm...............I don't agree that this movie was a dissapointment....It's was funnier, had more battles, could have been longer though, and it was fun to see! I think some of you or all of you here were looking for something perfect and that's pretty shallow. It's a comic book movie, but it's one of the best. And give Raimi some much diserved credit because he did do a really great job. And this isn't the end of the line for the franchise so give it a rest.......I think 4,5,6 will deliver, were this to you guys failed so horribly.....sometimes you can't have everything you want in a movie, and sometimes you just have to deal with it. Lastly I think, some people just want people to agree with them to puff themselves up talking about a movie, when there are a ton of other important matters to focus on.....And do any of you guys have a sense of humor? I thought the movie was really funny and I laughed at the emo parker dance number, and all the other funny moments. It's my opinion and others do agree with me so get over it and start formulating ideas for Spiderman 4 5 6 if you believe you can do it better. Not bashing on anyone by the way......but lighten up and appreciate that you got a chance to even see Spiderman at all.

the thing i really hate about all the sidey movies is the fact that they dont know how to keep their masks on
but this movie was the best in terms of action, and i agree, give sam some credit, hey, his movies are probably the closest you are gonna get to a comic book, i say the way he made his movies, they seemed more like the comics than x-men etc
so yeah,of course some people may not like it and some may but i think people just expect it to be perfect

I didn't hate Spider-Man 3 by any means, but I can understand why people are mourning. I saw Spider-Man 1, and I was blown away. I saw Spider-Man 2, and I was blown even more away. I saw Spider-Man 3, and I was satisfied. Big difference this time around. Spider-Man 3 could have been one of the best freakin' movies ever made. Instead, it was just good, and that is disappointing.

It's a great thing to not be a huge Venom fan right now, because I think I'd be in a deep and dark depression right now if I was one. If Doc Ock (my favorite) had received the same treatment as Venom, I would have been extremely displeased.

I will be seeing this movie again, because I think I HAVE to see it again. The rowdy and buzzed audience practically ruined the experience for me last night. I am going to see this once the crowds die down so I can see this without obnoxious commentary to kill the mood.

Anyway, I'm not trying to be a defensive fangirl, but I do NOT point fingers at Sam Raimi right now. I'm pointing them at the PRODUCERS. Sam Raimi had the right idea before, but the producers felt that they needed to fix something that was not even close to being broken.

Avi Arad, you better watch your back, man. You've pissed off fanboys countless times, but this time around, you did it with Venom. Seriously, dude. Watch. Your. Back. Screwing with Venom makes it personal for a lot of Spider-Man fans.

A ,I enjoyed this movie alot, even brought my self A soda.

I'll list the stuff I like about it later, okay.

I'm a big a fan of BB and you are right, there is no reason to rub salt in the wounds.

Especially considering that BB is one of the most overrated films ever. The only reason it gets as much praise as it does is because of the film its followed was simply horrible.

Again I'll bring up the entire plot point of Harry trying to get back at Pete... what a friggin colossally (sp?) stupid way to get back him... Oh no you have to break up, things aren't working out, bridge emo crying one tree hill style (although i've seen better acting on one tree hill), then all of a sudden.. Harry HEY PETE... I@M THE OTHER GUY... riiiiiiiiiiiight... that's the bloody problem with the film, far far far too many leaps of faith, so many loosely stringed together coincidences... people were cringing with the whole love plotline of how MJ breaks up with Peter and that whole thing... utterly terrible

If they just edited out a few things the film would be decent. They had a lot of good stuff in the film and a portion of bad stuff that if you edited out you would not miss it. That is what is so sad. And instead of showing the symbiote taking over peter with the emo haircut, they should have just had him be more serious or callous and not needing anyone, and letting them know that. I mean what most people are complainging about is cheese that Sony could edit out right now and replace the prints in the theaters and no one would know. Empire Strikes Back added a scene into it's print after it had been out for two weeks and no one knew the difference. Sony could totally fix this thing right now.

It was terrible. The only musicalization I liked was the one used for Sandman's transformation and the end of the movie. The rest, sucked.

This movie was pure crap. The only part I liked was the scene with Jameson, the secretary and those pills at the beginning. CGI was pretty obvious, it was pretty good with Sandman and some scenes with Venom, but the rest was bad. I hate when I can notice something's CG in a movie, and this one was full of those moments.

Most people in my cinema got out of the movie saying how bad it was and I agree with them. I'm definately not wasting more money on this movie.

I wouldnt say i hate it! but some bits i could have lived without

the more I think about it, the m0re i hate this movie with every atom of my body.

It's just so nothing. Where did we go? Besides that moron harry beind dead, we went no where.
thats what's so frustrating about this film. It did not have to ruin venom, waste gwen stacy, and force in sandman to get where it got, which was no where...

****

What the heck is going on with these comic book movies lately? I haven't seen Spider-man 3 yet but, based on everything I've heard I will be disappointed. Batman Begins was the last comic book movie I enjoyed. In the past 3 years BB, Spider-man 2, and X2 were the only comic book movies that I liked. Unfortunately, those great films were surrounded the following comic book bastardizations:

Ghostrider, Catwoman, Superman Returns(it was okay I guess), Constantine, Fantastic Four, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Blade Trinity, Daredevil, Elektra, and X3.

I'm convinced FF2 will suck due to the spiderman 3 reviews and I've basically lost all faith in Marvel comic book movies.:cmad:

The greatest crap is that we cannot got a perfect trilogy.
I mean, we knew Raimi, and knowing about the presence of Sandman, and Venom, and the high anticipations, and the LIAR trailer we were SURE about a success... all this hype... and we got a very imbarassing movie, an emotional torture. During the view i was unable to understand if i had to get a scene in a serious or in a hilarious way... every second it passes from dramatic to comic and overall the entire parts between the action scenes were totally embarassing.

sometimes you can't have everything you want in a movie, and sometimes you just have to deal with it

Please, no. We love Spidey and Spider-Man saga. We loved the first two movies. We have to be critic for a transposition like that. Face it, there are a lot of people that was very disappointed about this crap. More, more, more, more, more, more and more than everyone of us expected.
It means something. This is Hollywood, a money empire builded by our tickets payment, we have all rights to damn something that's disappointing.

Anybody who says this movie sucks is most likely a childish idiot.

Does it have a few problems? Yes. But as a Spider-Man diehard, I could have hardly asked for more.

And I mean what I said, I will not apoligize for this statement or retract it. The lack of appreciation here is pathetic.

I agree with you and support your opinion because I feel the same way.

Muhahahaaaaaaa! This movie blowed so hard. I am in shock, and yet, I am not surprised. The best thing in this movie was Harry portrayed by the amazing James Franco. Hayden-Church did well with the odd and out of place Sandman, until the fan got turned on high and blew him away, pointlessly. Aunt May was...well the convenient and surprisingly annoying fountain of wisdom as always.

Everything else was different, wrong, badly written, badly cut, badly edited, badly acted...just wrong. My friend sad that it was edited by monkeys. His wife sad not to insult monkeys like that, and she's the hard-core Spidey fan.

I have to admit I almost walked out when Harry died, cause he was the best thing in the movie. Damn, my satisfaction wasn't guaranteed, I should sue them for 67 million dollars.

To me, the movie seemed to drift away from the comics. Raimi had so many references to the comics in the past 2, that this one was made up. Any reference to the comics was great, but everything that was made up in the movie sucked. Sandman origin, awesome. Armored car scene, awesome. Symbiote transfer, great.

The scenes like when peter goes "bad" the first time, looks and the mirror and is like, new hair, oh yeah i look cool. The venom roar was annoying but when he talked, not brock but as venom, he was freaking sweet. Pete needs to stop losing his mask, its stupid now. Im surprised gwen stacy didnt pull the mask of when she kisssed him.

I certainly don't hate the movie, but I am a bit dissappointed. All the scenes that were meant to be funny were in fact funny. But then there were some scenes that were supposed to be dramatic and it fell flat. I would probably give this movie a "B", but Spiderman 1 and 2 were "A" material.
