Thats not the case at all. I wasn't let down because I expected to much I was let down by a out of place scene that was cheesy and looked like it was written by a ******ed monkey. There was plenty of humor in other parts of the film we didn't need cheesy humor that was mostly made to appeal to a 7 year old.The symbiote amplifies his characteristics, especially aggression, not just aggression. Having Connors say it just wasn't enough, they needed to show it and what's wrong with adding a little humour along the way? It's not a dark movie, it's a Spider-man movie. From the very start of the movie, Peter was arrogant and full of himself. That scene showed how much worse it gets when he has the symbiote. I agree with what others said before, because you don't want the whole movie to be dark and depressing. You want to get the audience involved and let them sort of develop a comfort level and then snatch it away very fast and that's what they did. I've seen the movie twice now and each time everyone was sort of getting into it and relaxed and enjoying and then everyone tensed up and felt uneasy.
I think you expect too much out of things and go in with certain expectations and when they're not met or they're different from what you expected/wanted things to be, you're let down. The best way to enjoy a movie is to go in with low expectations and just watch it for what it is, not for what you want.
I am still willing to end this circular disagreement where you guys keep saying the same thing and I keep saying the same thing and we end up going no where.
Agree to disagree? Or keep making the same point over and over again?
