The "I loved Spider-Man 3" Thread!

I went with people who didn't follow the comics or anything and they all liked it.

I laughed at the absurdity at how she described it: "I don't know, I guess I didn't like that Venom came to Earth took over Spider-Man and then another guy who became like Spider-Man." Is anyone else running into this? Jeez... I feel like I have to explain comic book history with the uninitiated.

What's absurd about that? That's what happens. if she didn't like it, she didn't like it, but she definitely got it. I mean what's left? Self-generated webbing? Merging of consciousness? I think Raimi got the essential aspects of the symbiote across to the uninitiated beautifully.

That she described VENOM as the symbiote in it... no, she got it- but I just still find it funny that people are calling the symbiote and black suit Spider-Man Venom.

The concept is right, the wording is a little funny...

How often have others ran into this- people mislabeling the symbiote, black suit Spider-Man and Venom?

Im going to see this again on saturday with my sister. She hated the second spider-man and I had to offer to pay her way before she would even consider going to see this. I know I will enjoy it yet again but I have doubts as to whether or not she will like it.

Well, I don't blame them, considering that half of the SM3 reviews did the exact same thing. ****, there's even some inconsistency in the comics as to whether "Venom" applies to the symbiote by itself, the symbiote and a human host, or exclusively the symbiote and Brock, etc. When you get down to it, really, it's just semantics, let them call that thing whatever the hell they want, as long as it forms a sweet drooling monster at the end out of Topher Grace that kicks ass, I'm satisfied.

I agree with most of this. It really doesn't matter all that much.

I will disagree that there is inconsistency in the comics. I have never seen it be inconsistent toward Venom or the Symbiote in the terms that your describe.

I really love this movie!!! And it's the most stunning piece of cinema ever crafted (well so far!)...

There are some things I would've done differently, but I still love it! One thing we all have in commen (well 98% of Us anyway), is that we all really didn't know what to think the 1'st time seeing it. Already at the 2'nd viewing it got a whooole lot better!

Funny, all who said they HATED it, all went back for a 2'nd viewing! Isn't that some funny ****! If they REALLY hated it, they would've NEVER payed money to see it a 2'nd time... I think this movie just evolved in a totally different direction, than expected, but it succeeded anyway! "3" despite its somewhat many flaws, is still the best!

ps: I'm puking over those who think Spidey 2 (as much as I like it!) is the BEST superhero movie ever made! BS!!! That title goes to Richard Donners very first "SUPERMAN" movie from 1978! I know you're all allowed to your own opinions, I just think it's BS!

huge spidey fan but no bias (honest :o )

best superhero movie ever:

1. spider-man 2
it had the most involving story, most rounded characters and the villian with the most emotinal depth and the best action sequence ever commited to film

2. superman
the best score for a superhero movie ever, great story, little light on the action. truly epic movie. singer tried to copy greatness and failed. badly.

3. batman begin
brilliant story, great action sequence (car chase) other action sequences fell flat as you couldn't actually see what was happen (what's THAT all about?) most realistic superhero movie ever (not counting road to pedition as that isn't mainstram comics) but most realistic isn't/shouldn't automatically mean best.

4. X2
terrific story and action, improved one the original in every way

and if I'm not mistaken rotten tomatos scores back up my top four and order, well actually spiderman 1 would be number three but BB is a better movie (imho)

1. Batman Begins... I'm a huge Dark Knight fan.

2. Spider-Man 2... You gave reasons above.

3. Superman... though it deserves the most credit for being first- if this film never existed, none on this list would have either.

4. Superman II DONNERS CUT

5. X-Men 2

6. Batman

7. Superman Returns... I'd say this is on par with 6, but 6 has more nostalgia value. Personally loved the film because of it's great drama. I especially love the father son speech, I'll admit that that scene makes me cry or feel like crying. Just very emotional and human.

8. Spider-Man 3

9. Daredevil DC

10. Spider-Man

11. X-Men

12. The Punisher

13. Batman Returns

14. Fantastic Four

15. X-Men 3

16. Batman Forever... might be just nostaglia factor, came out when I was under 12 years old.

17. Hulk

18. Blade II

19. Blade

20. Superman III

21. Blade III

22. Ghost Rider

23. Elektra

24. Batman and Robin

25. Catwoman

And I know I probably accidentally missed some along the way- that was harder than I thought in the top ten... below that point, easy.

1: "Superman - the movie" & "Batman Begins" shares 1'st place for me, for different reasons.

2: Then "SuperMan Returns". Dont care what people say about that flick! It is just as good and epic as the 1978 original! It has the most stunning cinematography in all of movie-history.

3: Than comes "Spider-Man 3"

4: Followed closely by "Spider-Man 2"

5: "X-Men 2: UNITED". A truely good and cool superhero-flick, which has nothing to do with it beeing epic, cause it's not. It's just a good solid story, with very good character-developement (and it only went down-hill with X3!)

Naite, yeah, SR is a really great movie. I really don't know what people's problems are with it. Sure it had no big action piece, but for me- it's the characters that made the film. Spacey was a great Luthor. And it really places Superman on a human level while still being a "god." It's REALLY difficult to watch at times because of it's strong emotions- Luthor beating Superman up, Superman falling from the sky, getting back the power, and especially the final scene with his son. "The son becomes the father, and the father the son."

And as I said, maybe some of you will agree- but it's near IMPOSSIBLE chosing the top ten in any correct order... because, for me, they're mere DECIMALS away from each other. And the list evolves accordingly all the time.

Glad to see someone who shares my opinions!;).... Spacey was great, but I always knew he would be... What surprised me was Brandon Routh!:wow: He did such a fantastic job taking over from Christopher Reeve (whom I LOVED in the role!). Routh is just as good as Superman!!! Not quite up to par with Reeve in terms of his portrayal of Clark Kent, but that's not his fault. That was just the way he was directed. They didn't make Routh's Clark Kent quite as geeky as Reeves. But he was absolutely fantastic! Remember when he walks in to the plane, after he's landed it in the stadium!??? "Is every one all right?" It just blew me away!!! That was freaken Reeve right there! Routh is amazing! He brings back what we all loved about Reeves superman character, yet he makes it his own!

About the action. Yes, it lacked a bit! But it'll definitly turn around for the sequel. The first movie was about introducing Superman for a new generation. It was about him, and his homecoming. Now, for director Bryan Singer, the world of superman is his oyster; he can do practickly what ever he wants with the character. I believe that the sequel will show to surprise most people.

I don't know why some people laugh at Peter crying. A superhero can't be heartbroken?

Of course he can. The guys that laughed probably cried when they got their heart broken.

SPIDER-MAN 3 WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pLEASE RETURN RAIMI!!!!!!!

don't listen to the critics, majority of people enjoyed the movie.

It's not BS it's their opinion. Just like in my Opinion 1978 Superman was not very good.

1. Batman Begins
2.Punisher
3.History Of Violence
4. X2

One easy explanation for my list is that a movie doesn't have to be exactly like the comic in fact I encourage them to take a slightly different path to give me variety which is why I love Punisher so much.

^ fair enough.... I'm sorry, but History of Violence!? how does that qualify as a superhero flick?

I was listing Comic movies not superhero flicks because I am an idiot at 3 AM and misread your comment.

^I'm going to try out some of those moves as I leave the stage after graduation.

i liked this movie so much. i just got it off a torrent site, video qualitys a little dark, but sound is ok. ive already watched it a couple times and now i can see things i missed theatres. but its definately one of my favorites.

Um... dude, the Punisher was more or less 'adapted'/'inspired' by the Garth Ennis comics... great film, I love it as well, but I don't think it strayed that much. Maybe from the first Punisher comics days, but it's definitely Garth Ennis inspired.

eh hem...I loved Spider-Man 3

"Hey, do you have any with nuts?"
"No Pete, but I can make some..."
"Go make me some cookies."
