Why would Spider-Man wreck the hospital to scare Jack O' Lantern? That's not so heroic

Oh no.... this is the infamous "Spidey-gets-amnesia-and-becomes-bad" storyline, right? One of the worst issues of Lee's run.

I never read this... but what kind of University in Manhattan has a thriving clique of White Power skinheads? This wouldn't happen in Mississippi, let alone New York City.

They need to be more nuanced and realistic in their depictions of campus conflicts.

I always have to comment when this one rolls by. This was the first issue in a subscription that I managed to talk my mom into (I was 9, and allowances were not issued in my family!). Previous to this, my collection was pretty hit and miss, what I scrounged at flea markets, and whatever was on the spinner racks at my local drug store (local meant a 20 minute bike ride through rural...and hilly...Western Pennsylvania) So, even though I had a lot of back issues, Marvel Tales, pocket digests, etc, I always consider this the "start" of my collection.....which has continued now for 34 years.

I remember the brown paper sleeve that they came in, and how pumped I was every time I saw one in the mailbox. Almost every issue featured characters that I didn't know, and drew me deeper and deeper into the wider MU. It didn't hurt that this introduction came at the hands of a pair of masters....Chris Claremont and John Byrne.

So Marvel Team-Up will always reside in a special place for me. Thanks John and Chris!

Oh yeah. Total crap in comparison to the rest of it. Also, this issue led to the same storyline being used in almost every comic series and television series for the rest of forever.

Hero gets amnesia and becomes bad before realizing he's a good guy. Ugh. I think every Saturday morning cartoon had one of those...and they are NEVER good.

This is one of three issues written by Uncle Rog having a person not believing in Spider-Man existence in reality
The other 2 would happen to be ASM Annual 16 and one of the chapters of the new story Something Can Stop the Juggernaut

I always love to hear this story...

The last panel of this book featured a mysterious "egg" on the surface of the moon "waiting" to be hatched... unfortunately, this was Bill Mantlo's last issue of MTU, and nobody has ever picked up on this still loose sub-plot... though I recently told Marvel-Continuity-Buff Dan Slott about it... I hope he can manage a cool 2 parter with it... be a nice homage to Bill Mantlo. :word:
