The inevitable vampire spoof movie is coming

if everyone just stops watching it right now.. it could finally bomb!

i couldnt be more anxious for RE:Afterlife to squish this movie.

That video...looks like we will see another movie from this directorial duo. ****!

I've been a semi-Twilight defender (though I'm not a fan) because I've always felt that Twilight was the 'gateway' for the female fans to get into 'geekier' things. Who doesn't like a female geek?

But now I'm realizing that it's not a gateway. It seems like they're not remotely interested in Anne Rice novels, True Blood, comics, whatever, and just fixate their attention on Twilight.

The bottom line is that Vampire Sucks (like what the spill review said) is exploitative.

It was a gateway for me.

I just wish there had been a better spoof movie made. It could have been something genuinely good and funny. I would have greatly preferred an adaptation of Nightlight (a parody novel written by some Harvard students) to this. Because Nightlight is actually funny without taking the piss out of the series. I would have seen it if that were the case.

This movie coming in second place at the box office proves how ******ed the general movie going audience is. This movie also proves that any movie with vampires or twlight related will make money at the box office. I want to know who the hell wasted 10 or more dollars seeing this crap movie. Watch there's going to be a sequel mocking true blood and watch it make bank. :(

I wasn't following this at all. I haven't even seen Trailers. I thought this would make fun about Vampires in general and wouldn't just be a Twilight spoof. And it made ****ing 2nd place at the box office?

And I actually thought people learned from Disaster Movie.

It actually beat out Julia Roberts new movie which came in third, if anything I hate Julia more than Friedberg & Seltzer.

I can't even hate the guys. They just look for a way to make quick money. And releasing trash seems to work for them. I'm disappointed by the people that actually go watch these movies.

Brats will go see this little by little every weekend, it'll make its budget back.

I thought they would have stoped making spoof movies after scary movie 3. The first two scary movie films were the only really funny ones. Obviously they haven't stopped, and from the looks of it they will not stop making crap spoof movies.

Scary Movie stopped being funny for me with part two. And I actually had to watch the first Movie a 2nd time to laugh at all. Seriously, I went with a bunch of friends to watch the first one in theaters, and while they almost died from laughter, I barely even smirked. But when I watched it some time for a 2nd time, suddenly I thought the scenes were funny.

When directors exploit audience for quick, easy cash without using any sort of creativity, I think it's fair to dislike them when other more talented people are struggling to even get a movie funded.

Hell, Duncan Jones had a hard time getting funding for his next movie after Moon that he had to put it on hiatus to do "Source Code" (which will be a good movie but is more maintstream)

You know I haven't seen it yet but maybe it made 2nd place because there are people that do hate the Twilight movies so it can't be that bad but I'm not saying it's good either.

What studios need to do is go back to R-rated spoof movies because the last good R-rated one was the first Scary Movie.

It wasn't funny cause it was R-Rated it was funny cause it had somewhat of a plot and was mostly coherent. Dumbass kids are the things that keep these new movie movies profittable so if they want to make their money back with an R rating they'll have to actually turn out a decent movie. Not this Family guy "insert pop culture moment every five seconds formula they've got now"

People are idiots and filth. So I don't know why this movie's success surprises anyone.

If these films tried something like that they might be enjoyable . It was bad enough Epic Movie wasn't funny but it was a headache to follow as well.

I liked both Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2 . The third was where it all ended for me ..

Now, of course, it all comes down to the comedy so there's no way of knowing whether they improved or not unless we watch it.

Vampires Suck is pretty bad, although it's a significant improvement over Seltzerberg's previous few movies. Instead of random pop culture gags every 5 seconds, there's one every 5 minutes. And they actually had a budget to work with, and you can tell they tried to emulate the look of the first Twilight film.

I did crack a smile several times, especially the end scene at the prom. The end coda would've been side-splitting if the comedic timing and editing was much better. The most clever thing about the film was that they even had Twilight-style rock songs playing during the end credits, but with ridiculous lyrics like "Sexting dirty pics of me in my panties."

But still, it's a far cry from the superior spoof films like Naked Gun or Airplane!. But it's just boring and monotonous compared to the eye-gouging awfulness that was Meet the Spartans and Epic Movie.
