Yeah, I can understand why you were taken aback by Wonder Woman's characterization. She has been depicted as being ready for wars in other incarnations, but in KC, her impulsive need for it was more prevalent. However, given the situation within the story I didn't mind. In fact, I thought it provided some great moments between her and Superman, and the romance bits felt appropriate in those instances. Though, again I can understand why you didn't like it.

Going to have to disagree with you as far as Alex Ross is concerned. I do have an affinity for a more "crude" art style like Jim Lee or Tim Sale, but his work here is absolutely gorgeous. I'll be honest, some of the images in KC wouldn't have the impact they did without Ross' expressive style. Also, because it's so photo-realistic, the reactions of the characters really draw you into the story as it progresses. No big deal if he isn't to your liking, as it is just a matter of preference.

All in all, I'm glad you found it enjoyable, but now I have to ask. What is your favorite DC graphic novel?

Thinking about it, I don't know if I'd place a lot of standalone GNs in my top five. Most of it is runs or multi-volume ones. All Star Superman, Morrison's Doom Patrol, Moore's Swamp Thing. Some standalones I can think of Red Son, Amazonia, Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?, JLA: Year One, Earth-2. Sticking with DC proper. I could probably think of more if we wanted to include Vertigo and other imprints.
