Yeah, it does look like a UN helmet. He also has a collection of dog tags. Probably more trophies of the same people.

That's not Cap's helmet. Looks like a UN helmet to me.

Great catch. I knew it wasn't identical to Cap's helmet, which is why I said it "looks like" it. The lettering was different. Mandarin apparently collects trophies, which makes his lair look all the more sinister.

Yeah, the dog tags of US soldiers, the UN helmet, are indicators of vanquished foes. Armies he's defeated in Afghanistan/Pakistan. The Iron Man faceplate is a nice touch, and I'm pretty sure the shades used to belong to Tony as well. Still trying to figure out what the dark blue thing that's been shot up on the wall behind him is supposed to be, though....looks too big to be another UN helmet.

Any IM armor experts able to identify which Mark that faceplate belongs to? I'm wondering if it references a defeat of Tony in this movie, or if it's a leftover from an IM1 or IM2 battle that Mandy snatched up...

Also, another nice touch: the smoke from the incense ("JOSS burners") is curling in the shape of a dragon.

I think it is a reference to Tony's defeat, just like all of his other souvenirs are referencing his defeat of his other enemies. Like Infernal mentioned, seems like he keeps them all as trophies.

Mandarin is definitely the villain with the most interesting style so far in the MCU, imo. He mixes and matches his style but it all seems to fit on him. It's interesting how he has a dragon design sewn into the sides of his camo pants.

Whatever it is, I think even more dog-tags are hanging from it

It's his new helmet.

It's his new helmet.

So, the same cracked faceplate that Pepper is holding. Trying to figure out the sequence here --- Malibu mansion attack; Iron Man suit gets broken, but it's still unclear if Tony was in it; Pepper is shown holding the broken mask; then it gets from her hands to Mandarin's boot.

it could just be for the poster.

wow I should sleep more often, great waking up to this! **** a Pepper poster next week, this one wins them ell. Love all his trophy's, wondering what the blue thing on the wall is.. gotta wait for a super HD pic lol

if only he was holding a badly damaged iron man helmet with his right hand. that would make this poster even more badass.

Not buying that it's a UN helmet. The lettering is on the front not the side. Thers's a paint smudge where two bullet holes are so that's what throws off the "A".

Makes sense that it would be Cap's helmet. Cap is an icon and with the events of Avengers his popularity is renewed. Mandarin's motto is "heroes....there is no such thing."

But why does it "make sense" that it's Cap's WWII helmet? That hasn't been worn or seen in 70 years. I *suppose* you could really stretch your imagination and pretend Cap and the Howlers went on an offscreen mission to Afghanistan during WWII as an inexplicable side jaunt for both HYDRA and the Allies, and Cap accidentally loses the helmet, and Mandarin finds it decades later, and.....and: maybe not.

There's the Cap shield tattoo on Mandy's neck, but that's the only connection I see to CA. Other than maybe a symbolic/political one, with Cap representing America herself as far as Mandarin is concerned.

As I said on the other thread, the Stark legacy is tied to the super soldier program. Erskine created the formula, and Stark created the vita ray machine. The Extremis program in the comics was a way to "outdo" the super soldier program since no one could recreate it (Ross, Banner, etc.).

Also nothing is every coincidental in these movies. Going back to the first Iron Man film, Caps shield is shown as an easter egg, and Favreau acknowledged it was there on purpose. In Iron Man 2, there's a page in Howard Starks notes showing the Teserract. Cap's shield is shown again. Thor and Captain America both have opening scenes in the town of Tonsberg Norway, showing that Odin left the Tesseract on earth, leading to Avengers.

Thats pretty bada$$, so far everything about this movie has been pretty awesome. I realize many don't care for the new mk 42 armor color wise, but I have liked it from the beginning, can not freaking wait.

never noticed that one haha! pretty sweet

also @CherokeeSam go a few pages back and respond to my message to you last night haha! I thought we had a nice discussion on the Killian/Mandarin relationship going before the Mandy poster was posted.

Epic poster. Mandy looks great. Marvel sure is great at translating villains to the big screen. Loki, red skull, mandarin are all perfect

you can clearly see an N ...

ther is only one word to describe this poster: badass! love all the details, from the UN helmet to Fin Fang Foom in the background...

UN helmets have the UN symbol on the front, not lettering. The lettering is on the side:
