Hey xeno, wanted to ask, whe're your avvy from?? I don't recall seeing that footage anywhere...

Thanx.

Polux

My avvy was created by Kane52630, who posted avatars in the Gif & Avatar thread. It was taken from video on the IM3 page at marvel.com. Kane has some sort of supernatural skill that allows him to capture the video and create gifs, which he then kindly shares with us Luddites. If you check the gif thread there are other great ones there.

Pearce's poster is so bad in the Photoshop department. Still, like seeing he might be more then a bit part player here.

What do they mean they say new money?

it's called software and media converters :woot:

Just saw the Iron Patriot action figure in the Disney store earlier. I was tempted to buy the ****ing thing.

UK version of the Killian poster is slightly different from the one we've seen. You can notice the backdrop more. Seems to be the same place we see him in the SB spot.

Killian looks like he could be Justin Hammer's cooler brother.

To be fair... The sparks actually make sense in Iron Man posters... The whole Iron/Forging iron.... Something that's typically shown with Iron Man at times too
Unless Tony Stark is building a new suit next to Killian, there's no need of sparks in that poster.

.... Its not literal. Its poster art. Not a photo. the sparks are a design element to not only tie the posters cohesively together but to harken back the references of IRON and forging it... not a hard concept to understand

I do understand, I'm a graphic designer. But I know when they go on autopilot mode and make everything look the same.
In fact, that's one of the problems with the poor photoshop art works of lately. Trying to put everything together, 'all-in-your-face' type of poster.
I do like the posters for Iron Man 3, however. Tony falling upside down was clever and different.
And the one with all the armors in the back was nice too.
I just wish graphic designers could think a little outside the box, that's all.

Im a graphic designer as well... And if you've taken a class on marketing than you'd know and understand that they're trying to sell a film and make each poster cohesive (not stand alone works of art) as a graphic designer your job in a case like this is to not confuse the audience (by making them cohesive) and to get more butts in the seats. Not make unique pieces. Marketing is a whole other ball game than simply being an artist.

I do it all the time at work, making sacrifices for art for practicality and reaching a wider audience.

These are also just secondary posters. Not the primary ones representing the film in its entirety. (like the armory poster)

Are there any other posters of other characters other than Guy Pearce and Don Cheadle?

Was it firmly established that Frank Ashkani died in IM1 when the Dude used his little gadget on him and blew up his base, or was he just crippled? Since Ashkani was one of Gandhi's henchmen, who did have RDJ held captive, I wouldn't mind him showing up again in IM3 in a cameo.

I love that you called him "the dude" congrats on being my new favorite poster!.. and I don't think they've ever confirmed that guy is dead, so cameo is a possibility. And the only other poster out is Tony falling, but it's safe to assume there will be 2 more posters in the 2 more weeks until the trailer.
