Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

I am not sure you can call it a "whole movie's worth" when he is in like 15 minutes of the film. I love Ledger's Joker but he sits out the majority of the film. His few scenes though he just kills it in.

I just meant that he’s The Joker over the whole course of the movie.

Also I thought 15 minutes sounded a little low, so I googled and his total screentime is about half an hour.

The holds/legs this movie continues to have despite new mega movies opening (Gemini Man , Adams Family . Maleficent 2 , Zombieland 2) is pretty remarkable.

$900 mil WW is definately a lock now. Aiming for $925-950 mil.
$975-1000 mil wont happen imho... but now i wouldnt be surprised if it did.

This thing is going to be 800 million + by Sunday night next week!

will it have a release in china or is it banned i haven't got a concrete answer from anybody yet???

because imo that will determine its 1 billion dollar chances but who knows it still might do it lol

So far the chances are slim to none. Its a movie about rebels and civil unrest so the timing is all wrong.

Even the release of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was canceled due to Tarantino's refusal to change the portrayal of Bruce Lee in the movie.

Lee's daughter made a request to the Chinese board and they mandated the movie gets changed or it wont get a release.

Joker's exceptional performance must be seen as something special that cannot be replicated simply by making another R rated cbm. I would say it is combination of few things that worked, Joaquin's performance, Todd Philips' direction, the story, musical score, cinematography and the popularity of the character itself, plus the timing.

also helps the media outrage basically marketed the film for WB lol

I was surprised it beat Zombieland but knew Malefcient was gonna take number one.
