Best of luck to this production. Heavens know how much we need a truly great DC CBM.

And you think this will be the one?

Here are some pics of Phoenix today. He's looking gaunt as hell

I honestly haven't been this intrigued with a DC film in quite some time. I cannot wait to see Phoenix in full Joker wardrobe. I'm really liking his slightly emaciated look.

Oh my god :atp:
I really hope they don’t waste this and give us a half assed toned down Joker.
He has the perfect look for something really classic.

He's the American DDL. Or DDL is the british JP for a mind screw.

DDL would never lower himself to appear in your ''funny book'' movies. How dare you!? :o

He basically did a live action Pocahontas, his **** stinks like the rest of us. :cmad:

Off topic though....you never have seen them in the same place at the same time, have you
?

Was surprised I hadn't seen this done already, so I did a super quick manip of the most recent pic of JP smiling:

Well, we can’t get anything worse than The Batman monkey Joker, Leto’s Trap Joker, or Snyder’s face-mask Joker... can we?

Or, you know, look at Wonder Woman's success on how to make a good DC superhero movie and run with that.

Let's not start the "Worlds of DC is doomed, pull the plug" hyperbole again without seeing how Aquaman, Shazam, and WW84 do on their own, particularly now that the DC brand is under new management. Not to mention that this movie is at the very least drawing attention from people from Joaquin Phoenix alone. It definitely won't be your run-of-the-mill movie staring comic book characters, but something much more down to earth and personal. Whether it'll work or not, we have yet to see, but the fact that Leto isn't anywhere near it is already a plus for me (also it being Elseworlds, so they're allowed to take some liberties).

Dilly Dilly deleted their post, so now my reply post looks like it came out of nowhere. :funny:

I feel like any method actor or actor that wanted a meaty role, would accept the joker. It's iconic and if you can put your stamp on it and get applauded, that **** lasts a long time...

It’s hard to imagine he was almost Dr. Strange.

I’m glad it went to Cumberbatch, he’s pretty much perfect
Whilst i don't claim to know the best details of Dr Strange, the casting of B Cumberbatch has always seemed odd to me, i think, knowing him so well before this, the whole accent, wig, it just takes me out of it. RDJ would have been great, i kinda wish they went with Colin Farrell or George Clooney - too bad they couldn't use whats his name, aussie actor - Guy Pearce.

Frankly, and this is not me speaking as a Phoenix fanboy, he could pretty much play any hero or villain in Marvel or DC if he wanted, he's that versatile. Outside like pulling an RDJ in Tropic Thunder.

The casting of Phoenix here is a master stroke! Then again I thought the same about Jarrid Leta. I hope this guy does a vastly superior job and makes something for decades to remember
