Dude, I don't want to start a fight. Stop acting to defensive. I'm not fighting you. If you want to have a discussion we can do it without using jokes or mocks.

It's not nonsense. I agree his movies in the past were bad. But what he's saying has a point. People (in America, at least) get offended at EVERYTHING these days. Look at the Jojo Rabbit outrage, or the Dave Chappele outrage, or the Joker outrage.
Both sides, not only "SJW", act like triggered *****es everytime something hurts their feelings. Look at Youtube with the Incel army and Twitter with the bluecheck army as examples.

Well, i'm not American and my mother tongue isn't english, so i apologize if i made you angry you using that word. Then stop using words you don't know the meaning to. When you say "triggered" what you really, want to say is "I view you as emotionally irrational, and therefore I don't have to consider your point of view seriously."
Oh for the love of...
...look, the only reason you’re defending this puerile comment from Phillips is because he made a film you want to like, and you want to be popular. You wouldn’t be defending such a stupid point of view if he hadn’t made Joker.
Phillips being a bit of a d*ck has no effect on how good or bad Joker is, or your enjoyment of it. It literally won’t affect its box office or critical reaction.
Better to just tone out the discourse and just focus on watching the movie when it comes out. It's not worth the brain cells.
Changing topic, got a chance to see this one sooner than expected. I will watch it in 6 hours. So excited.
Will post a review after and my thoughs. A friend of mine saw it and called it the most depressing film he has seen.
Thanks, man.Look forward to hearing your thoughts
Offense is not new and a majority of things people claim are offensive don't actually suffer
Chappelle still sells out arenas, Bill Burr, JOE Rogan still are hugely successful. Even Louis CK, an admitted sex criminal, still is making bank. Politicians, of any party, with multiple allegations are doing fine. A lot of very popular comedies have multiple rape, gay, and race jokes.
It's just this weird little narrative about a bunch of cry babies. And it's not like offense is new. Andrew Dice Clay and Eddie Murphy got plenty of blowback back in the day for their jokes.
To paraphrase what Rick Gervais said: Say what you want to say, then it's up to you to care about whether people get offended or not. Like seriously, sack up
I now pronounce this post as the official subtitle of Twitter. But then how can I be outraged by something?![]()

Maybe they had a syndromeThere was a screening at Stockholm. People seem to have loved the movie there, too.
His movies will probably age fine. They’re still quoted a fair bitCover Story: Joaquin Phoenix on Joker, Rooney, and River
Take some time and go through. There's an audio version there too. As for Phillips, he is the epitome of dudebro directors. He made crass comedies that just don't age well once everyone starts moving on. Similar to James Gunn who started as a edgy comedian and grew as an artist. Some just can't and have to do something like Joker. But Phillips will always be a dudebro.
