The Joker Thread - Part 1

Scratch that. It's a long shot, but...Joker's Five Way Revenge???????
Hot dog! You should be Leto's chief adviser on all things DC-related. I mean it'd be a dubious honour and you'd probably want to keep it off your resume, but still. :hehe:

Andy you're probably the biggest Joker fan here and yet I don't recall you ever mentioning your favourite.

It's Ledger, right?

I'm not sure if I really have a favorite. I really like the more traditional permawhite Joker like in the comics and Arkham games (video games in general). I think Ledger and Phoenix both gave the best performances overall, but I'm not sure who gave the best Joker performance.

But yeah, he's probably my favorite villain from anything, and just one of my favorite characters in general for whatever reason. For the right reasons though, not because I admire his actions or anything like that. Nothing stupid

I was just trying to think of a comics Joker who shares the Nicholson Joker's very pronounced interest in art. I'm drawing a blank though.

Maybe just comic Joker in general??

One thing I really liked about Heath's Joker is the little tics they gave him, like the shifty eyes and manic "movements". He seemed almost feral at times. One way to kind of get that again with this next Joker while making it different would be to give him mood swings. At least that seems to be the only one I can personally think of

A pronounced interest in art and seeing himself as a great artist? :ebr: I don't recall that characterisation ever being the norm. Certainly not prior to Nicholson.

Eh, he seemed to have a grandiose sense of narcissism before Nicholson. I feel like that counts

I keep imagining a scene where he tortures one lone survivor of one of his attacks, singing and dancing to 80s music

Similar wardrobe, at least

It's in-character?? I also feel like it would establish him as an especially sadistic iteration. Closest to the comics in terms of the gleeful evilness.

Buuuuut I might be getting ahead of myself. Just spitballing ideas

Andrew Garfield seems like a very Ledger-ish choice to me. A fair number of people would be divided, but will be taken aback once they see the performance. I don't wanna speak too soon, but that's just my two cents.

I really like these concepts. This girl is very talented. Joker wearing these colors really works too.

Oh, I LOVE that Joker design. This is pretty much what I have in mind in terms of design; something clean and almost Bowie-esque.

This whole art style could easily work in a comic too. The grittiness kinda reminds me of Capullo for some reason.

It seems to me she's influenced by Sean Gordon Murphy, Greg Capullo and Otto Schmidt. And I love how it looks. I hope she makes it to the industry one day because damn do I wanna read a comic in that artstyle.

The Red Hood design is great.

I've had the vision in my head of a more sort of... Dare I say it... Slenderman-esque? Red Hood look for a while now and that is definitely in line with it

I like the colors on Joker's jacket collar too. Just kinda wish it was just a color pattern and not written "HA HA" s. Seems a bit much and going into Riddler territory .

The Red Hood gang in the New 52 had that same kind of design.

But as much as I like the "HA HA HA" pattern, I'm inclined to agree. Something like polka dots or that "party" pattern seems more appropriate for Joker
