People are forgiving of Nicholson in general I just took an opportunity to say it.

I just......don't care for a big Joker. I just don't. He should either be very thin or practically skeletal.

The strong cheekbones, pointy or prominent nose, wide grin, etc. are integral to his design IMHO, and you can't really accomplish that when you have him looking all flabby.

I certainly get this but I always thought it’s the same as people saying Ryan Reynolds plays himself as Deadpool or the same with Robert Downey jr and iron man. I think like them Nicholson was just born for the role. Even if he has a bit of a beer belly.

A crazy mohawk Joker probably COULD work, but it just sounds a bit too weird to me.

Same. I never cared for his Joker, even when I was a kid. Always just felt like Jack Nicholson in makeup.

I like that interpretation (mooostly), but it's so synonymous with the rest of his performances.

I think you lose something when you have him built like that. In the comics I've always imagined him as somebody who slinks around and sometimes contorts his body around in an unsightly way. Very gangly, knows he's freakishly skinny and uses it to creep people out even more, that kinda stuff

Seems I'm the only one in this thread who still unapologetically loves Nicholson as the Joker.

Well maybe @hellblazer103 also loves his take. I'm not sure.

He's got that manic, unpredictable energy, and the feeling he could flip out at any moment makes every scene he's in really tense.

He's both an absolute psychopath, and incredibly theatrical

I also think his addiction to some unknown gas would fit really well. Have a Joker who is constantly huffing a Joker-gas, upper. Joker already acts like he's on meth, why not make it literal?

That could be interesting, but at the same time, I dunno; it feels more harrowing when his tendencies are natural without the aid of any drugs.
