Because he stinks!
Because he stinks!
Any reason why? He doesn't seem like too unlikely a choice.
I genuinely think he’s a crappy actor. Not nearly the powerhouse that he has been given every opportunity to become. Studios have pushed this dude hard and he is really lame..Another possibility is Aaron Taylor-Johnson. He's consistently getting studio work, but still has some indie cred too.

Yeah, Melling can do an American accent. Or at least, he does a Southern accent in The Devil All The Time.
Interestingly enough, the more I look at Melling's face, the more I see a bit of a resemblance to Brian Bolland's Joker in there.

I'm so sick of the Bill Skarsgard fancasts at this point, even if I was one of those people back in 2017. He has a good look for the character though, it's just that the Pennywise thing makes him way too obvious a choice. Even so, he still would've been known from that bland Castle Rock show, so as an up-and-coming actor at that time he probably would've fit right in with the rest of the cast.I’m watching The Devil All the Time on Netflix right now and Bill Skarsgard is giving a great performance. I tend to think fan casting him is rather bland since it felt so derivative of Pennywise, but he could give us a new Joker.
He's more feral than Curry's, I think. He WAS a little over the top, but at the same time he was playing a demon doing an intentionally bad clown impersonation to season his victims with fear, so I'll give him a pass.Call me crazy, but I always thought that beyond the surface differences, his Pennywise felt like a total copy of Tim Curry's. I never bought into the hype over his Pennywise.
It annoys me to no end that Will Poulter had the role and the studio screwed everything up.Call me crazy, but I always thought that beyond the surface differences, his Pennywise felt like a total copy of Tim Curry's. I never bought into the hype over his Pennywise.
Just from that clip alone, the way he moves, his eyes...i’m getting Joker vibes.
I was about to mention him before you beat me to it but I already knew he'd be right up your alley lolAugust Diehl needs to be brought back. I’m dying to know if he can shake his accent. Time to go down the YouTube rabbit hole.
I quite liked the first one. Chapter 2 however, felt super shallow; it didn't feel like there were any stakes and at times feels like it was made by a different director. The It movies were terrible.

I still haven't read the full book yet, but I can see how the film adaptations would feel underwhelmingProblem for me is I love the book, and these movies just felt like a bastardization of the material.
Damn. I just saw Multiple Maniacs today and Divine has so many qualities that I would like to see in Joker. Divine’s performance actually reminded me a bit of Joaquin’s Joker “they couldn’t carry a tune to save their LIVES!”.
I’m all for a Joker that plays loose with gender. That’s why I want Toni Collette! Tell me this isn’t totally Joker:
