The Dark Knight The Joker's Plot

I wouldn't mind a "Batman must be destroyed" plot.

you got that already.

Batman forever.

Riddler wanted Bruce Wayne dead, and Twoface the other side of bruce waynes coin, Batman.

true...

hmmmm....

what could they do that doesn't involve destroying gotham city or batman?

destroy the world?

P.S can someone tell me how many posts i have to make before i can have an icon? i thought it was 300?

Has anyone considered that it will have nothing to do with Gotham city?

I think this is going to be a more personal story plot... the people who crossed the joker.. maybe even the joker trying to take over the gang boss Moroni leads.

that would be nice but i think it sounds a bit small fry for the joker.

taking over america is more like something he would try to do.

I personally think a smaller story could benefit this film, as people have said, we have seen the blow up and destroy Gotham so many times.

i agree but I still feel that with the joker being the main villian and national guard involved in the film, i somehow doubt it will be a small scale story.

I think it'll be more like a citizens of Gotham will be terrorized by the Joker to piss off Batman plot

Maybe, as during the movie there is supossed to be some competiton between Harvey and Rachel for DA, maybe, during campaign, there is some kind of open meeting, with lots of kids (you know the always needed "politicians" kissing babys), people cheering,etc... It would be a mixture of "funfair" and campaign meeting, so we could have a Joker moment similar to the one in TDKR with kids dying at the funfair because of the gas, and explosives (i think a great difference between scarecrow and joker could be joker using explosives)

I'm kind of hoping for the Jokers 5 Way Revenge feel. After getting his plans foiled by Batman at first The Joker goes on trying to take out his former gang members. The thing is that he'll take out subways and buildings full of people trying to kill one guy.

I'm with MM in that I'm sick of the "Gothem must be destroyed" plots. Doing something like TJ5WR puts a lot of people in trouble without overly going into that theme.

I'm also hoping that the Joker is inspired by some classic movies and figures. Sure we all know about Clockwork but The Third Man, The Exorcist, The Warriors and Charles Manson can all be parts of a great Joker.

As well as a tiny tiny dash of hannibal lecter

I still want to know why the freaking Natonal Guard would have been called out.

My favourite casting side is the one with the 'prisoner' riding in the cop van and Gordon is trying to talk Berg out of shooting the Joker. Something about Bergs wife in hospital. What a nerve-wracking scene, Gordon actually having to save the Jokers life from pissed off policemen, he'll be stting there calm and smiling.

MirandaFox also had some tidpit about a police funeral. If the Joker crashes that it will be awesome.

I love the one where the Terrorized Cop is talking to Gordon about who kidnapped him or whatever, and he says all he can remember is his smile.

:joker:

the joker will probably have a series of smaller crimes
then after Dent comes to town and promises to rid the town of him the Joker will probably start doing bigger crimes and with him finally breaking into Dent's apartment (with a Nice Homage to a Clockwork Orange) rape and kill Racheal Kidnap Dent then keep him hidden away in a very "SAW" like fashion until batman can use his detective skills to find out were he is keeping him. The Emotion scaring will probably cause Dent to turn into Two-Face.

I think it'd be awesome if there was no big plot. he's just killing off people and Batman is trying to figure out why, or what his ultimate goal is. in the end, Joker has no ultimate goal. he's just killing people because he feels like it. that'd be a decent twist. that there is no huge master plan. Joker is just a nutcase.

Hi, first time poster here. I spotted this on batmovienews.com, referring to a forum where someone whose cousin or something is the TDK location manager, claims he knows the general plotpoint for the movie:

Anyway, I know many people make false claims about this, but his plot seems suits with the sides. What do you think, guys?
It fits with the sides alright. Suspicious of its veracity though - we've had a few 'plot leaks' that have been pure B.S.

great find! that does sound like it could be legit.

yeah seems legit... or atleast close enough to what could possibly happen

As has been said before, without Batman, there is no Joker. He needs that yin to his yang to keep going. It's all about the constant struggle for him. He wants to be the one to take out Bats, but having him gone would drive him even more insane.

Actually when Joker thought he killed Batman he got plastic surgery and became a very productive citizen under the name Joseph Kerr.

Which is why I said if Bats goes, Joker goes. And he technically doesn't want to be normal, but was forced to in that storyline.

A little bit added by MF from what we already know from the sides:

http://p088.ezboard.com/fbatmanonfi...geRange?topicID=2080.topic&start=201&stop=220

Anyway, what I was told was that the Joker's original plan is thwarted, so he responds by saying he's going to destroy the city. Yeah, yeah, we've heard this all before, right?

Well, not really. Because that's not what he actually planned to do. Everyone panics and evacuates on the city ferries which is exactly what Mistah J wants.

What follows is pretty much what was in the sides regarding the two boats. The Joker rigs two of them with explosives - one carrying civilians, the other prisoners - and makes them choose whose going to die.

So usual city in peril cliche is a distraction for Joker's real plans. This is the philosophical Joker I was hoping for. Its also a much improved take on Batman's role in Joker's evolution. Rather than B89's "I made the Joker", we get "I pissed the Joker off something awful, exacerbating the problem". I hope he explicitly blames Batman in his TV broadcast. Oh, and Joker's original plan is to kill Gotham's VIPs, the Mayor etc

This potential plot is very much like a traditional action movie, not particularly a Batman movie, and I can't decide whether that's good or not.

I want Joker to talk. I don't want him to be a crazy lurking background menace, I want him to be able to expound on his anarcho-nihilism or whatever you would call it.

I like the idea of Joker going after the government in a way that Maroni can't, despite the officials knowing ahead of time who has been targeted and taking steps to protect them. If the smiles on the corpses come into play, I hope it's the laughing gas frozen smiles and not the Glasgow Smiles. It might feel more realistic, but I'd feel odd about the victims looking that much like the Joker. It makes him feel like a walking corpse, which I don't think it what you want to go for.

this would be a great plot. at least it sounds great.

we will see
