Use him like they did in the recent Joker GN. Have his presence felt, maybe quick glimpses of him on top of a roof or something, but only have him actually show up at the end for the finale.

We already have 2 films where the joker is the dominant figure of the movie. For batman we've had... what... one maybe two, counting Begins, a little bit of TDK and Forever. I say lets have another one with Batman.
Havent you had your dose of Joker blowing **** up and being crazy, or you just want to watch BTAS in the big screen with Harley breaking him out of jail and him being an ass to her?

Na I just think a twisted, surreal, nightmarish road trip/crime movie with Joker and Harley would be awesome. And I mean proper violent, hard core R/18.

Then use Batman as a more mythical figure. Have the film from Jokers POV and Gordons and the police.

I know it would never happen but I just think it would be cool. Make it more of a crime/police film. With Batman as that mysterious x factor.

Its a good concept, but we already had a movie dominated by the joker, so i am just saying that i'd like something else. But sometime in the future it would be good.

Yeah have it be on HBO.....I like a Gotham Central tv show about the GCP being the main characters and Batman appearing once in a blue moon.

Have Gordan and crew take on the villians....But have it be based off of the new comics with Batman supposedly being dead and no real crime fighters to save Gotham cut Gordan and crew.

My objection to the "Joker" graphic novel and other comics and media that focus on The Joker exclusively is that they tend to take some of the mystique out of him. The threat of the character, I think, is that one never knows quite how far he will go. If a comic shows him going as far as one can imagine is possible (I refer to rape and flaying scenes, and their like), then there is nothing left to imagine. The Joker's position as the least predictable character in comics is lost.

Another problem is that The Joker's behaviour should be lunatic in more than one respect. Extreme arrogance and showboating should match the extreme violence.

There was a lot of mystery about the Joker in his recent GN. How he got out of Arkham, which he never revealed. There is a point where it seems like he is talking to himself, but it could be taken as though he knows Batman is there watching him and he is talking to the Bat.

It leaves his motives ambiguous. Did he want to be the top crime lord. Was his claims to take back what was his genuine? Or did he just want the attention of his play thing Batman?

What he said to Dent to make him **** himself (not literally). There is other little things here and there but I can't quite remember now, haven't read it in a while.

And he is a show man in it too. The scene at the strip club, slapping a one dollar bill on that guys ass after he had been "stripped" of his flesh by Harley.

On the idea of a Joker origin movie....
There is no tragic backstory, no easy explanation for why he is who he is. He just....is.

Eliminating arguments leads to no creativity. Nobody is just is. People are not that simple. And we never asked for an explanation for the Joker's actions, we want to see the reasons why he's so damaged. His transformation should be a twisted journey, never supposed to be easy.

Like you said, the Joker has little recollection of his past...but maybe other people who met him at different stages of his life can tell the story. Have you ever watched the anime Monster? It's all about the past of the main villain, delving deeper and deeper into his complex personality, discovering something new and shocking about his past in every chapter. As a child, that villain wanted to be "the last person standing at the end of the world". It's one of the most appreciated stories in Japan, and it will adapted in Hollywood.

What I'm trying to say is that we need some thinking outside of the box...A young Joker is a new idea. Never before done in the comics nor the movies. I think Nolan is very original and creative in his writing, he can do it because he doesn't follow the rules.

Joker I do not think wanted to be the best crime lord cause stuff like that did not interest him...But the thrill of killing and feuding with Batman did.

He was cocky and arrogant....And was a showman at that aswell, but was mentally deranged.

I like a Joker movie based off the Brian Arrazello comics. However is that the one were he is really insane and a killing machine?

That was the movie monster? The one with Charlize Theron?

No not Charlize Therone...It's an entirely differently movie based on the anime called Monster, it's still in production according to imdb, no information at all. The story of Monster is about a doctor who saves the life of a little boy, discovering ten years later that he became a brilliant, charismatic serial killer. When the doctor realises that he brought a monster back to life, he starts a journey to kill the young man and discover his past. The villain's name is Johan Liebert (story set in Germany)... I think if he came to the big screen, he would be as famous as the Joker.

This is Johan.

No, "we" don't. Maybe you do. Maybe others do. I know that I personally would be disappointed to find out how Joker really got his scars and the real reasons he does what he does.

It's a lot more of a psychological thriller, (less gory scenes, more well-crafted psychological torment/manipulation). After I finished reading the manga (comic), I couldn't believe it was written in 1995, it's absolutely ahead of its time. But I think the American audience can handle something as clever as Monster....only most of Hollywood thinks they're brain dead, not me. Not Nolan.

I came across this on youtube and thought it was pretty good. I thought you all would enjoy it, sorry if it has been posted already.

Wow I'm speechless. This is the best fan portrayal of the Joker I have ever witnessed. I think this guy should audition for the part. He seems to have a lot of passion, and quiet a talent...plus he looks the part. It's crazy that the next near perfect Joker (no one is as good as Heath Ledger) could be one of the fans.

Yes, he's a fan. Not an actor. And at the end of the day he's a good impressionist at best. Not the best qualifications for an actual movie role.

Come on there are a number of actors out there who were award worthy from the start of their career (like Ellen Page or kid actor Haley Osment). I mean yeah he definitely seems a bit nervous and unexperienced at some parts, but it's easy to recognize a talent when you see one...he just lost himself into the Joker in some scenes and that really impressed me. Plus I've seen some professional actors out there who aren't nearly as good as that.

Yea but he's just imitating what has been set up before him.

It's a great impression, but that's about it.

What would he be like in an actual feature movie?

To say a guy who does impressions on youtube could replace Heath in the next Chris Nolan Batman movie is pretty stupid.

That's what I call a complete lack of imagination. There's no need to be narrow minded and bash any new talent or idea that doesn't belong to you. It's childish and really irritating.

I thought they were entertaining and well written. I think it would be hard for anyone to top what Heath did in TDK but I think this guy could be good enough for a small cameo in the next film.
