Recast for 3. Heath's not the only one who can play Joker. It'll be fine. Maybe they can get someone this time who's right for the part.
So let's just say that the Joker was going to be in the 3rd and Heath Ledger's performance turns out to be beyond incredible (which I predict). How can the next actor win everybody over? Because obviously he will mostly be critiqued on his performance compared to Ledger's. That's why I believe a lot of people including Joseph Gordon-Levitt would turn the role down.
In a way I would love to see that happen but I think Depp would be athat's why i suggested oscar nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal if they have to recast. not only is his face more suited for Joker's, he also got that oscar nomination for Brokeback Mountain (also starring Heath Ledger) and was Christopher Nolan's 2nd choice for Batman/Bruce Wayne. i'm sure Nolan would like to work with Jake Gyllenhaal at some point considering he's already worked with his sister for the Dark Knight. not to mention Jake Gyllenhaal shares a lot of the same intensity and drive in acting that Ledger did.

I think no actor will want the role.
I think no actor will want the role, imagine that pressure to fill Ledger's shoes. I would like JGL though.
Like no one wanted Dumbeldore's role after Richard Harris died?![]()

Completely agree.I wonder how you know Heaths not right for the part having not seen the film yet. I get that you may not like his look or what you have seen in the trailers so far but even if they did recast him in the third it would be silly if they had the same cast and director with someone else portraying the Joker in a completely different way to Heaths. It would not make sense.

Most actors would give their right testicle for the role, even after Heath's passing.
Death is death. The circumstances of their deaths are irrelevant By the time they recast the shock of Heath's death will be long gone.ah its a little different. Harris died from old age, Ledger's was more of a tragic passing.![]()
Heath wasn't the only actor who could play Joker.Oh please, I think it's a bit tougher to perform as the Joker than as Dumbledore.![]()
I couldn't imagine anyone else playing the role of Joker like Heath, but if comes to the point where Joker is indeed needed, I could actually imagine James Franco for the role.
Now, I know he's already played Harry from SpiderMan, but at this point it doesn't really matter due the fact that he died in the third film and also that the third film sucked. Sure, he'll have to disguise his voice (if possible) and basically act exactly like Joker, but he's the only guy I can think of who sorta has the same facial structure and almost exact nose as Heath.
