Why does everyone think that just because they have the same actor that it must take place in the same universe? I'm just curious.I too believe that Bale is a mistake but I understand that I am in the minority. I like TDK movies but I am not particularly fond of that incarnation of Batman or the Nolanverse in general. I don't want Man of Steel to be mixed in with that universe at all. One with Robin Blake (doesn't even exist in comics) and all these villains that are just knock offs because they needed to be grounded. Like Bane just being some random big guy.
My Number 1 choice for Batman would definitely be Michael Fassbender. Hands down better than Bale. However that would never happen so my number one realistic choice at this point would be probably Luke Evans, but only because I can't think of anyone else. I'll hold judgement to see how well he does in FF6

There's like a ten year age differemce between Cavill and Bale. I almost objected to someone suggesting Fassbender for Batman but he is actually younger than Bale by like 4 years or something. Go figure. Thought he'd be older.
No. Why? It's not a Batman movie and probably won't even be inside Gotham...It's familiarity and association. After coming off the most sucessful Batman movies to date. Don't you think people will also expect the rest of the cast: Freeman, Hathaway, Caine and Oldman to be called back if their characters are needed on screen?
Bale's return just poses too many questions that I would care to be explained in a JL movie. And the TDK trilogy was definitely a separate universe that I wouldn't want tied into!
Batman was always older than Superman.
Who cares?Wrong.

In the original continuity, they were the same age. In the post-Crisis continuity, Superman was 2 years older, and in current continuity, Batman is 3 years older.
They've always been within 2-3 years of each other. Not that has to hold true in the films (Captain America and Iron Man are roughly the same physical age in the comics, but the actors who play them on film have a 16 year age difference.) Still, you should always check your facts, even if your grandmother tells you.
Would be great if it wasn't for Kate Beckinsale for WW. That casting would make me roll my eyes for the rest of eternity. Good God no! Emily Blunt 100 %.

Wrong.

Thanks for all the comments. Sorry, I edited my original post below. I did mean TDKR and not TDK, but the TDK series as a whole.
As much as I would like to see Bale in a JL film I still think that it would be contradictory to the world Nolans/Snyder established. Also, I wouldn't want Bale in the film just to satisfy fans or because the studios wanted to make more money and capitalize off of TDK series' success.
I think that TDK films and MOS/JL films should be treated as different universes and that there shouldn't be a cross dimensional thing where MOS is able to enter TDK's universe and form the JL that way.
A new Batman that can spinoff into a new series closer to the comics tone is what I would like to see.
