The King of the Hill HATE thread

King of the Hill is pretty much the only good show FOX has on sundays.

 Hank Hill is awesome and so is King of the Hill, one of the best cartoon shows on TV. It also seems ABC may pick it up, which would rock.

Yeah, I'm sure they're in the market for a mediocre, unfunny, run of the mill animated sitcom. :whatever:

Yes, because ABC has such a good record when it comes to adult-targeted animated TV shows.

In case you didn't catch that, I was making a reference to both The Critic and Clerks.

Yah I just read that a couple of seconds ago. ABC sure loves picking other network's scrap. Which is cool but why couldn't they do the same with Journeyman!? Jericho!? and a **** load of other good series !? :cmad:

You can call American Dad and Family Guy a lot of things, but "run of the mill" ain't one of them.

I think its due time for this thread. For my money, King of the Hill is the worst show on television. Always has been. Should have ended years ago.

I dont find it funny at all. The characters only suceed at annoying the ever-loving crap out of me. Nothing could make me happier than seeing Hank, Bobby and the wife get hit by a freakin' train. The animation is decent, but, for me, when it comes to an animated series, the story is where it counts.

Honestly, theres a good chance that I might be alone on this one and that this thread might go nowhere, but I just need to get it off my chest and I need to know if there are any others out there who feel the same way.

You must not be from the south.

I am a big fan of the show, but the last two seasons have shown a real shift in how the characters behave, so maybe this disturbing turn has made the show ripe for cancellation.

We've had episodes revolve around forcing "certain groups" to move out of neighbourhoods, sympathetic characters physically attacking other people with no consequences, Peggy practically pulling the plug on Cotton, who doesn't even get to say goodbye to his grandson and infant son, etc.

As a so-called "city boy" who had the time of his life living for short periods of time in small, two-traffic light towns, this show has always reflected a good version of small-town life, of decency and respect of laws and rules tempered with a pragmatic approach to change in an evolving world. Now, the show seems to have gone into an almost rogue red-state mode, which I don't like.

Holy ****. Who would they possibly force out of a neighborhood? And I know Peggy hated Cotton, but pulling the plug?

Sorry to see KOTH end. But I can't be sad about it. 13 years is LONG time for a show in TV years. I'm sure people will start to appreciate how great this show is in syndication. or on the net. I'm looking forward to the series finale.

13 years. Wow. Most people don't have jobs as long as some of these shows have run.

I need to get a job in television. Seems like TV shows have the best job security nowadays.

No that would be Fox...with Family Guy & American Dad.

Both of those suck too. Believe me, I'm not playing favorites between Fox's primetime animated shows. They all blow. Family Guy occasionally has some funny jokes, but overall the show is a mess. American Dad is a poor mans family guy. The Simpsons is soo old. And King of the Hill was never funny to begin with. South Park is, as far as I'm concerned, the best primetime animated sitcom still airing today.

There was that episode where they blame "hipster artists" for driving up real estate prices in a Latino neighbourhood, and scheme to get all these nasty liberal elitists to flee the neighbourgood en masse. The mean-spirited politics of it were pretty much on display.

The Cotton's death story was one of the deeper moments of the show. Peggy berates Cotton until he passes away, implied in the story that he does it just to spite her because she claims that he's too mean to die peacefully. Ostensibly, she does it so Hank can have some closure.

I have a hard time imagining Peggy berating Cotton while he's on his deathbed. Granted, Cotton had like 0 redeeming qualities (Archie Bunker was more lovable, and he once had an episode where he defended his right to call black men the N-word), but Peggy doesn't strike me as someone who could be that angry at someone.

Hey, I didn't write the episode, but that's what happened. I think it was among the first 2-3 episodes of the previous season.

I hope this happens. Then Mike Judge would have 2 shows on ABC.

And now I'm glad I stopped watching years ago.

This show might be picked up by Abc . I was always thought it was kind of funny but not something i'd follow. I'm suprised that it's still around.
