Usually.....that one changed his mind.
I'm no Donner defender. They were both lazy ways to solve Superman's problems.
I really liked the scene, also I do not think that the rules were broken here for Superman. It felt like a great moment. He was throwing away a giant piece of his home...which was a theme of the movie. Finding his real home. Trying so hard to find a piece of Krypton and then once he finds it he chucks it away to save Earth...plus the fall to Earth was great.
A large chunk in his side crippled him, removing most of it allowed him to resume more power, I'm sure superman works off of similar principles to people, for example is has been docuemtned that small housewives have lifted cars up in times of need to save children etc that were their own, adrenaline etc and emotional response stimulating the pysical. This is surely a similar thing? Considerin ght elimits human bodies can push in real life, superman pushing them in fiction is nothing too unbelievable.
Exactly, Supermans will and determination is what helped succeed in getting rid of NK, not his super-powers. He was running on pure adrenaline and love for humanity at that point and its what got him through.
As you said, it is similar to normal people doing something beyond their means in times of desperation.

There wasn't others he didn't like? 'Cos there seems to be a lot of crap vampire films. Although there's one or two I wish I could get on DVD here but Australia can be crap at releasing stuff.

Like Superman being fast enough to reverse time when he wasn't able to catch two missiles.![]()

Or taking the easy way out and turning back time or erasing a womans memory to solve his problems.![]()

But that's the thing he's not solving his problems, he's solving LOIS'S problems.
And it's not easy, it puts more of a burden on him than letting Lois be dead or suffer.
Lois' problems are his problems.
Joe X dead might be, Lois dead no way for Supes. Some lady might have her heart broken and Superman doesn't care but if it's Lois, then amnesia kiss.
If he has to live facing Lois' death because he chose to save other people or facing the pain he caused to her, then he must delete it.
It's universes easier than face the fact Lois died or that he choses his mission over Lois. It is far less of a burden having Lois alive - or are you saying it's easier for him if she's dead? - and not having to face the fact she suffers because of him.
