The Lighthouse

It's funny to me how growing up, I hated horror films. But these drama horror based films are absolutely my favorite films of this particular decade. Hereditary, The Witch, Babadook, this, and many more...

I am absolutely drooling over this movie. Too bad I accidentally read the spoiler before Boom's warning on the production notes. :waa:

Yeah, I'm a bit miffed that I accidentally read that detail. And they spoiled it again in the Q&A at Cannes.

I am glad that nobody has spoiled the ending though. As long as I can avoid that, I'm good.

I was just about to watch that myself. Thanks for the heads up!

Fingers crossed that the release date isn't too far away!

Happy to see that Eggers is two for two. Hopefully it's a fall release.

Comedy?! What the-- oh, it's Ari Aster. Okay. We're good.

From what I'm gathering, the most complete description of the film is that it is a psychodrama with horror and comedy elements.

The Witch was a masterpiece, so i'm beyond excited for this

Great news about the quality of this film.

Hoping he finally get to make Nosferatu next. With Robert Pattinson in the title role playing an actual vampire this time.

Yeah I'd really like to see his take on Nosferatu.

I would love to see Robert Eggers' take of this scene that still scares the sh** out of me to this day.

The Witch was great, and I really like what's been said in those reviews. Looking forward to this.

That'd be fantastic. Originally, I thought Nosferatu was his next film, but it seems like with the hype behind The Lighthouse, it should be coming after that

These numbers will go down obviously, but hot damn.

Rotten Tomatoes:
100% (35 reviews)
9.15/10 avg

MetaCritic:
89/100 (12 reviews)
11 positive, 1 mixed

I'm most excited about 2 reactions in particular which stated that the movie will expand our vocabulary :thf: and that the movie is endlessly meme-able :hmm

Holy cow, this year's TIFF lineup is stacked.
