World The Lizard's sewer

So many Lizards

That's one hell of a great collection you've got there, Curt

OK, I've posted some Lizard figure photos in the "Lizard Collection" thread in the Products forum at last. Here's one of them:

There plenty more stuff where that came from, I just have to re-organize my place and get some pics taken. In loading these pics up to Photobucket, I noticed a few other random Lizard-related photos that I haven't posted in a while, so this seems like a good place to post them...

Someone's custom Lizard costume. Pretty good, but what's with the red nails?

Suggestion for a new comic title: The Lizard Loves Mary Jane.

For some reason there still isn't a Lizard Mini-mate figure, but here's a custom

You have a load of Lizard stuff my friend. I've never seen the custom mini-mate in your thread, maybe I missed it.

you are the biggest Lizard fan I will ever see!

Started in the late '70s when I was but a wee lad.

I had been reading Marvel's Godzilla comic since I loved dinosaurs and Godzilla. Then I saw Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man #34, with Lizard on the cover and that was where the whole thing began.
Cool, that sounds like it was a great way to start collecting.

OK, this isn't Lizard-related, but I don't know what thread to put it in, so....

Here's a super-cool toy I picked up in Japan! It's of course from the 1978 Japanese live-action Spider-Man show which was sort of a forerunner of the Super Sentai (Power Rangers) series of programs. Spidey's giant transforming robot "Leopardon" is about 7" tall with diecast metal parts. Also included is a detailed vinyl figure of the Japanese Spidey complete with a metal wrist-weapon like in the show. But wait - there's more! Also included is a diecast metal "Spider-Machine GP7" - Spidey's super car, that comes with a tiny Spidey figure.

Cheesy and awesome at the same time!

It is strange, but I just had to have it, lol. In fact, I got mine about a year ago.:D

Very cool! I would love to have that.

Wish I had an extra $10,000 lying around so I could get a shot at owning it.

I have a question regarding Curt Connors, how did he lose his arm?

I believe it was from war.
It was, and after that I believe Dr. Connor's was trying to create a potion or serum to grow his arm back. He grew his arm back, but he turned into the Lizard after that.

Wish Steve Ditko could get some of that $10,000 :csad:

Yea Connors was stiching up some guy in the war (it was never stated what war), when a blast went off near him and got shrapnel in his arm.

If Kurt Conners lost his arm,was it during World War 2?

The writers have never said which war because that would have to change as the years went by of course.

In 1963, the assumption would have been the Korean War. In the '70s and early '80s it would have been Vietnam. Then possibly Libya. Today the assumption would be the Gulf War or Iraq.

I think there was an early '80s issue of the Marvel Universe handbook that actually mentioned Vietnam under the entry for Lizard, but that was later removed.

Yeah, it had a darker tone to it. I sort of wish the show kept that feeling.
I loved the dark tone to that episode. I loved how we first see the Lizard in the sewers. Sewers is a must have for Spidey4 if the Lizard is in it.

Oh yeah, that was badass. And some of the scenes with Spidey swinging are animated beutifully. If the show kept up that quality it might have ranked way up there with Batman TAS.

Yeah, Spidey swinging looks fantastic! I also really think the 1990's animated series was better than Batman TAS.
