Yeah, anyone with a legitimate copy of 7 or 8.1 qualify for the free upgrade (I believe they initially said even pirated copies were eligible, but then backtracked. It probably still would though, since bootlegged copies are designed to mimic legitimate ones). I believe the only difference is the version of Windows 10 you get. The Starter, Home Basic and Home Premium versions of 7, along with 8.1 get Windows 10 Home. The Professional and Ultimate Editions of 7, along with 8.1 Pro get Windows 10 Pro. But, they all get some kind of version for free.
