Crusader is only able to kill if he's confident he's killing a "false" god right??
An above average human athlete with great sword fighting skills and a magical blade (that he's afraid to draw blood with) against a guy with superhuman speed, strength, endurance, etc, who's also a great sword fighter with a nearly impervious sword.
This guy has gone toe to toe with Thor and people are still going with Black Knight...and at a 2 to 1 ratio?!?
Ok first Captain America has gone toe to toe with Thor (in the Avengers training room when Eric was Thor and didn't have a lot of experience) so super strength and speed is not the end all.
Second Crusaders strength at it's peak tops at 20 ton. He was only able to go with Thor because in that particular arc Thor was doubting himself as a god in the modern world, that was also the only reason the Crusaders mortal blade could cut Thor. Once Thor was over his issues he made short work of the crusader!
Third Dane can't die so long as he holds the ebony blade. He would have to be disarmed first.
So all in all it will come down to who you think is the better fighter! I vote for Dane myself.
8-4 Black Knight so far!
Meh, he doesn't need to die in order to lose hold of the sword, he can easily be beaten unconscious and lose his grip.
And yeah, I voted BK.
"Tops at 20 tons"? A normal human gets hit by something or someone that can put 20 tons of pressure in a single blow and the go flying like a slingshot or pop like a friggin grape.
Caps shield absorbs the energy from blows because of the Vibranium in it, so it's not the same.
Lastly, Crusader is a master swordsman in the same vein that BK is so if anything, that's pretty much a draw.
Killing him isn't the point but since they're fighting with swords it's important to point out that if Crusader lands a blow with his blade nothing really happens but if Dane did Crusader would be dead which is negated by the fact that he won't take a life due to the blood curse (and possibly the fact that he's one of the good guys which Marvel obviously felt wasn't a good enough reason on it's own). Dane could be disarmed without losing consciousness as well but I don't think he would be disarmed or knocked out unless the other guy was the better fighter. So, as I said before, it comes down to who you think the better fighter is.
Probably but he has to land that blow. Crusaders strength tops at 20 tons but he has to believe strongly in a cause and have supreme confidence to get there. He has lost to wolverine and other low powered heroes in the past. In any case I was mostly pointing out that what you said about him being able to go toe to toe with Thor wasn't really true. You're trying to put him waaaay above his class!
Don't argue if you haven't read the story! He wasn't even using the shield most of the time. He was making Thor miss and getting him off balance and at one point Cap wasn't even holding the shield when he flipped Thor with a tamo nage by taking all the momentum of Thor's attack!
He's a skilled fighter, whether or not he's on the same level as Dane is open for debate. Personally I think not since he has no where near the same amount of experience.
He did go toe to toe with him...it's irrelevant that Thor wasn't the same powerhouse he is today. At the time, on that stage, they went toe to toe.
The point I'm making is, Crusader traded blows with Thor (weakened but still superhumanly strong)...that is something Cap can't do without his Shield. Making someone miss is not the same as taking what they can dish out.
They're both top level swordsman...I believe Crusaders enhanced abilities cancel out Dane's probable edge in fighting skill...thus I think it's probably a draw.
Like I said in my last post, forgone conclusion for the outcome of this match. Our opinion on this one differs, I'm sure we'll agree and disagree on others.
The reason you brought up Crusader vs Thor was to say Crusader was way out of Dane's league. Look at the way you put it in your post but Crusader could only go with Thor because of Thor's doubts about being worshiped as a god in modern times! Cap took on Thor at full power because that Thor was no match for him in fighting skill. You don't have to be able to take their best shot if you don't let them touch you.
Another point that hasn't really been mentioned is that Dane's armor has allowed him to take blows from powerful enemies and powerful weapons. That will help compensate for any strength difference.
If you think their fighting ability is a draw then it could go either way. Why are you getting upset that people are picking Dane?
