Yes, the criticism has specialized praised her, and they say she is the best of his generation, the girl deserves, it is not just a pretty face, but also has a huge talent.

But seriously, I don't think anyone can say that she is or she isn't at this point, she's just at the beginning of her career.

I don't think Lawrence is overrated, she looks pretty hot, she did a decent job on acting (so far), but no one says she is "the next best thing" nor "the sexiest woman alive" nor "an oscar worthy actress", so I don't see how she would be overrated, in either terms or looks or acting.

She already has an Oscar nomination. But I do not think that a actress is less talented, just because she it was not nominated for an Oscar. Gary Oldman is receiving his first Oscar nomination now, and for me, he always was a magnificent actor, Helen Mirren also took a long time, until she received his first nomination, I never saw the Oscars as a thermometer of talent. I Respect the award, but for me, not qualify or disqualify an actor. But Anyway, I understood what you meant.

Lawrence to me is really, really hot. No-one can really deny that. And she's a great actress.

But I feel... that maybe she lacks some of the emotional vulnerability of Mary Jane. That, like Emma Stone, she is perhaps a bit too much like Mary Jane in real life.

To which it makes it harder to put 'the mask' of Mary Jane on in a sense. She is a girl who needs love but hides behind a persona of a party girl.

The way I see it, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been or is in the process of, being written. The role of Mary Jane has already been written and come time when they have to start casting her they cast the actress who best portrays Mary Jane in the script, how they chose to write her. If it is Jennifer Lawrence who best portrays her? Fine. If it is M.E.W, Elena Satine, Amber Heard, Deborah Ann Woll, Emma Watson, Dianna Agron or Imogen Poots who nail it then FINE. So long as I see Mary Jane Watson on screen in the film and not 'actress A wearing ginger wig' like with Kirsten Dunst, then I don't CARE frankly.

Anyway, while she'd be perfect casting for MJ, there's no way she's signing onto a third franchise where she'll play "the girlfriend." Especially if it's second to Emma Stone (at least for a film) in a role Kirsten Dunst already played. She's already in a superhero franchise she probably wants out of (X-Men) and just became Hollywood's next It Girl with Hunger Games.

I hope she can show off she's a great actress again soon. Like in Winter's Bone....the movie she was nominated for an Oscar for.

Agreed. I think Lawrence would be fantastic as MJ. However, due to the popularity of The Hunger Games, she might not be available, as far as filming goes, for TASM2

She is in a supporting role where she has to spend something like 6 hours a day in make-up (something she didn't seem too thrilled about on the DVD for the first film, most of which she stayed out of blue make-up in) while meanwhile she just opened a new franchise where she is the star to $150+ million OW (more than XFC's entire domestic take).

I loved XFC and she's great in it, but I'm sure after all the HG success going back to the blue make-up is probably not ideal.

I'm a FC poster? As in a fan? I hope she's back and I'm glad she's probably contractually obligated to. After Fassbender and MacAvoy's relationship (and the whole "'60s" vibe from comics to Bond to Cuban Missile Crisis), she's the best part of the movie.

I'm just saying since she already has that AND Hunger Games. I doubt she's going to want to play the second love interest in another superhero franchise right now.

I think Jennifer Lawrence is a very good actress. I liked her in First Class and I just saw The Hunger Games the other day, which she was very good in. As for her as Mary Jane, I don't know. I never really thought about it before, but I don't see it, personally. Besides, as stated before, she's already got two (if a sequel to First Class is still coming) franchises going. I'd like to see them get a bit more creative and choose someone else.

Then again, we have no idea what kind of Mary Jane, if any, they'll be looking for.

She wasn't half bad as Mystique either, although...I don't want her as MJ. Heck, I didn't want her in the Hunger Games because she may now not return for the First Class sequel That should be first and foremost on her list, imo.

Do you have any evidence to show me that there's not a chance she wouldn't return? Her schedule for filming the Hunger Games sequel and First Class's sequel are around the same time supposedly, unless First Class gets pushed.
