I still haven't got "Death Magnetic" I own all their CD's up to Black Album. I've been meaning to pick it up, but I'm slow. Plus I've heard mixed reviews from it as well. Heard the quality isn't so great either. But I heard "All Nightmare Long" and liked it a lot.

I love DM. Judas Kiss, My Apocalypse, That Was Just Your Life, Cyanide, Suicide & Redemption, All Nightmare Long of course. I just listed most of the album lol. Great album imo.

You'll be able buy the DVD online at metallica.com when it's released (Nov 23 I think), or failing that I'm sure you could get you local record store to order you a copy. The DVD will be region free, so no problems playing it

IMO, That Was Just Your Life is the best song on the record and one of the best they've ever written.
BBS and Nightmare absolutely crush live. So heavy.
The "weak" tracks for me are Cyanide (still great live) and parts of Judas. But those two tracks are still good.
Overall great record.

All Nightmare Long really takes the cake on Death Magnetic. Being a huge Metallica fan, I was following Death Magnetic'sproduction religiously, and was very skeptical due to their live releases of their songs Death Is Not The End, and the song dubbed, "The New Song #2".

I got Death Magnetic [BLACKOUT]before its release[/BLACKOUT] and was blown the hell away. It truly is a pick-up from where ...And Justice For All left off.

The quality issue they're referring to is the loudness of the tracks. If you just turn your volume down a little lower than you would normally keep it, you won't really hear any static. I never do, at least.

So far every song I've heard I've liked. I think I'll like this CD quite a bit. I've listened to AJFA quite a bit this past week actually. I forgot how awesome it is. I usually listen to RTL/MOP when I listen to Metallica.

From the songs I heard it does sound like it'd be the follow up to AJFA, except the vocals are different. But yeah.

I'm actually going to get Load/Reload eventually... I plan on getting all of their CD's at some point.

But I got Death Magnetic, I can honestly say... It's pretty awesome. I totally can see this album being placed after AJFA. Definitely has some AJFA vibes, and about the same length in songs. I really like: That Was Just Your Life, Broken Beat & Scarred, The Day That Never Comes, and All Nightmare Long a lot.

I don't like The Unforgiven III though. It was just "meh." Cyanide is okay, I like parts of it. But all in all, this is a pretty sweet CD. Will have to give it more listens though. I've only listened to it twice. And the CD cover itself is pretty cool. I got the softcover version where theirs really a coffin whole on the cover. Thought that was pretty neat.

That's the part I like. I think they should let Rob have his own bass solo song. Like they did with Cliff on the Kill 'Em All album. He's amazing.
