I'm seeing them again in May! :awesome: Just a few days after my birthday too.
Thought I'd post some videos from their new DVD to celebrate.

cursed europeans...after 25 or so years we finally get a show featuring metallica, megadeth, slayer and anthrax and they have it in poland of all places?

Great vids! Also, I have to say, why the hell do poeple hate the St. Anger Album and Death magnetic Album so much? Both albums I found to be good.

^^ Not for nothing, we all have our own opinions. I find St. Anger to be a bit underrated. That's all i'm saying.

You could tell they had problems during that album. It really shows in the work and even if someone likes I'm sure they could admit it's there weakest album.

Well, underrated as in it's not given enough credit for how bad it really is.

I agree, it's absolutely horrible. There are some good riffs in there but put together... just.. ugh.

I like a couple of the songs just for the sheer stupidity.

SHOOT ME AGAIN, I AIN'T DEAD YET!

Honestly I think you have it reversed. The reviews for Death Magnetic were very, very positive and actually applauded Metallica for returning to their roots to an extent. If anything more people love Death Magnetic and absolutely hate St. Anger.

St. Anger is the only Metallica album I don't own and I intend to keep it that way too. If I want to listen to a bunch of unintelligent noise and bad production I'll listen to some run of the mill black metal band.

I own St. Anger, I don't listen to any songs besides "Some Kind of Monster"

I like that song. I really like the main riff.

I remember one person a while back saying that the St. Anger songs are more for a live setting than an album setting. Reason being is he described to me how he heard the songs live via studio on television and saw them play the material live.

Now I have no idea if what he says is true or not, but a lot of the St. Anger songs sound better live apparently and Kirk improvises solos into pretty much all of the songs.

Well, I've heard alot of people say Hetfield's trying to be someone he's not anymore, which i think is NOT true at all. I found Death magnetic to e really good.

You can't tell s**t from these but that's Metallica playing at River Stadium, Buenos Aires, last night :woot:

The setlist was:

  • Creeping Death
  • For Whom the Bell Tolls
  • Wherever I May Roam
  • Harvester of Sorrow
  • Fade to Black
  • That Was Just Your Life
  • The End of the Line
  • Sad But True
  • Cyanide
  • All Nightmare Long
  • One
  • Master of Puppets
  • Blackened
  • Nothing Else Matters
  • Enter Sandman
---
  • Last Caress
  • Whiplash
  • Seek & Destroy

:applaud

Same here, but I add "Unnamed Feeling" to the list.

"My lifestyle, determines my death style..."

Enough said.

Of the poor lines that are in that album you actually picked a really great line there.

Hetfield's probably more himself now than ever. The macho/beer drinkin Hetfield of the 80's and 90's was the act, and it took him over. He got past that, but as Lars said, "there's still a storm in his head".

last night they played Fight Fire With Fire :argh:

five weeks from tomorrow, we're heading to see them in Mty

I think not. There's a damned good reason Kirk never wrote lyrics prior to St. Anger, and that line is one of them. It's one of the lamest, and for lack of a better term from middle-school, "corniest" lines I've ever heard.

You know what pisses me off? Pittsburgh brings the stupid G-20 Summit here and causes mass hysteria. Yet Metallica is not going to be coming here. It's annoying! :cmad:
