The Miscasting of female comic characters

Eww. Get out and take your opinion with you ;)

I always though Sue was supposed to be attractive.

One of my favourite posts by you. Do you mind if I bookmark it?

My God! Another one. Majik, your madness is spreading.

Seriously, am I the only person that thinks she has a face like a wonky frying pan?

I think most of those ladies are entirely too old. I get what you're going for, but somewhere between Jessica's age & theirs, I think.

Yeah I had a feeling...it's hard. Because I don't want to go too young, but not too old...they need to have that sense of maturity.

Claire Danes maybe? Natalie Portman or Sienna Miller?

Damn, thinking about it...it's a tad hard to put your finger on it.

But what I DO know is that Alba just wasn't the best choice...for acting reasons, or lack thereof.

EDIT:

oooo, Julia Stiles; that's a good one.

Okay keying off that, what about Bryce Dallas Howard? She looked pretty good as a blonde via "Spider-Man 3."

Howard isn't old enough....I always figured Sue for the same age as Reed.....Alba looked like a college student crushing on her Professor.....

Lois looked just as young in SR, and she had a kid of... how old was that lil bastard again?

Well then how about Bridgette Wilson aka Sonya Blade from "Mortal Kombat"? Both she and Ioan Gruffund were born in 1973.

Yep, that's much better than the flatface you suggested before.

I didn't suggest her, I was referring to an early rumor. :o

Well you should have said so earlier. Now it is your suggestion by default.

Anyway, MJ :(

She fits in this thread quite well. Snaggletooth :o

Pfft! lol @ Majik expecting me to pay attention to his posts.

[/my bad]

technically in the comics thats what happened...Sue is much younger than Reed

When fan boys ***** about the height of a character I laugh myself to tears.
It's funny to hear people sh** about the Paquin Rogue simply because it proves they have little exposure to her beyond the 90s cartoon and comic. It the 1980s she looked like this.

.
It was not until Jim Lee drew the book until she took on the unrealistic proportions of a buxom strip tease. In the 1980s she was written as a introverted girl who had little use for dolly herself up -- which makes sense, considering attracted men was the kiss of death, literally.
your right...she was an AWFUL rogue. she had none of rogues confidence, personality or looks that rogue is famous for.
Rogue wasn't confident, in fact she was probably the least confident of the X-Men, until she had Gambit to string around like a love sick puppy.

Rachel McAdams would have made a good younger Sue if that's what they were intent on having.

Her proportions may have changed, but Rogue was always a tough chick. In her early appearances and the flashbacks to her younger years you can clearly see that she was sort of a tomboy.

Not true. Her confidence only wavered after the Ms. Marvel incident. In her villain days she was a self-possessed and eager young woman. After Ms. Marvel's memories and powers stuck, she began to have doubts and writers played up her loneliness because of her inability to touch people as part of her redemption. Not only that but she'd just joined a group of people she used to fight, and most made it clear that they did not trust her. And even in spite of this, she was still a spitfire.
