who do you think the mob boss working with Black Mask will be?

Rupert Thorne?

Sal Maroni?

Lex Moxon?

And could you explain why they would have ties to Thomas Wayne.

Well, I think if Nolan is a big fan of TLH, then Maroni may have the edge.

I have a strong feeling that Black Mask will not be in this movie, nor do I think he should.

Batman, Gordon, and Dent vs. Mob bosses with a strong dash of Joker and his shenangans thrown in is quite sufficient I think.

but, what would his ties with Thomas Wayne be?

Well, its quite possible that the ties would be based from TLH. Thomas Wayne is a doctor and he treated an badly injuried Falcone at Wayne Manor without reporting it.

I'm casting a hearty vote for Mr. Rupert Thorne, who happens to be my favorite Gotham mobster.

Well, what if Wayne did report it and Maroni was sent to prison and ordered the killing of Thomas and Martha Wayne.

THOMAS AND MARTHA WAYNE WERE KILLED BY A MUGGING GONE WRONG NOT BY AN ORGANIZED HIT :cmad:

Sal Maroni for The Dark Knight. I think Rupert Thorne should come later...

That is one way to film it, but I think for dramatic purposes, it would add more tension, if Bruce was lead to think that old Dad wasn't as angelic as he thought by discovering a Business connection or relationship with Thomas and Maroni. Of course at the end, we find out that what Thomas did, while possible illegal, was morally based.

Take a chill pill. I'm only saying they could take a bit from the silver age comics were Lew Moxon odered the killing.

Yeah, yeah. I just think it was bad enough that Ra's was "responsible" for the Wayne's death because he created the depression that made Joe Chill poor and want to rob them.....

nvm me.

I've been thinking about this. If I did my version of Batman. (I'm a writer/filmmaker/comic artist, so I think about these things from time to time). How cool would if be if Thomas Wayne WAS somehow involved in the mob or crime or something. Of course he'd be a mostly moral guy, but that would really hit home that Batman doesn't kill anyone. That would explain why he doesn't even kill the criminals. Even a guy involved with the mob could bring so much good into the world that Batman wouldn't ever feel justified in killing his enemies.

Of course this would cause a fan uproar if I actually was helming the next reboot of the Batman franchise or something, but I think it works very well.

What if they were old school friend or something and Thomas always tried to turn Maroni from a life of crime? Something like that?

That sounds like something they'd really go with. I like. :)

You could do that, however I think that something along these lines were going to be included in a Batman movie, that scenario doesn't provide enough tension or conflict for neither Bruce nor the audience.

If Batman is a master detective, I would like for him to find out something shocking about his father that he was unaware of. Something that inadvertently results in Thomas's past coming back to haunt Bruce in more ways than one.

**** Rupert Thorne, it should be Rupert Giles. What's that guys name, Stewart Head?

Since Nolan casts all Brits and **** for his cast anyway he might as well

Brian Cox is a brit

Brian Cox IS Rupert Thorne. He was born for it.
