The person that started that crap (Breitbart.com’s tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos) has been permanently suspended from Twitter and Twitter is investigating and considering punishment for the others that took part in this.

Twitter said this about Milo Yiannopoulos:

"People should be able to express diverse opinions and beliefs on Twitter,” a company spokesperson said in a statement provided to BuzzFeed News. “But no one deserves to be subjected to targeted abuse online, and our rules prohibit inciting or engaging in the targeted abuse or harassment of others.”

Went and saw it Sunday, I enjoyed it a lot, seemed the rest of the audience liked it as well, not sure why all the hate, to each their own I guess.
As for the twitter hate for Jones, I feel the same that has been expressed here, my faith in humanity slips every day with the hate and racism that is out there, the internet has made it so easy for some a hole to sit in his car and belittle someone with no repercussions, and the joy they get from hurting someone just because they can, I have seen on here over the years people trash others for no other reason than they do not agree on minor plot points to a film, I see every day online humans killing innocent animals just because they can, idk, I am getting to the point anymore where I just can not stand getting online, I understand every one has a right to voice their opinion, but man there is a lot of hate, more than even I thought.

Maybe, but I doubt it. Different scenario; OO has a way stronger cast, and is a genre of film that women and adult couples are more likely to see.

Saw this over the weekend and really liked it and this is coming from someone who wasn't hyped for it once it was announced. While it's not definitely not as good as the original films and does suffer from some pacing issues, I found it to still be a very enjoyable movie that is overall well make and funny. I loved the new cast and I thought the ghost were actually way more intimidating than those seen in the original movies. The only thing I wish was that Bill, Dan, and Ernie played their characters from the original films. Ernie is Patti's uncle in the new movie anyway, why could he just have been a older Winston and taught the girls about ghosts etc? Anyway, It's a shame this movie gets the hate it does as it does not deserve it and I am sad Leslie Jones quit Twitter because of racist trolls and hateful fanboys.

He did at least fan the flame (by posting that tweet "feminism makes strong women play victims") and encourage his followers, I don't care what else he did though.

Apparently several other accounts were banned too but he's the most well-known.

I don't know if he actually started it, but that doesn't negate his actions, especially when his actions rile up his followers to follow suit.

It also needs to be pointed out that this isn't the first time he's gone too far and he has had his wrist slapped by Twitter several times (pulling his verification, suspending him multiple times, etc). They finally had enough.

But I'm not okay with the way organizations reporting on this have twisted this story because they have an ax to grind, and are being what I have to assume is deliberately misleading. Twitter's position is that he violated their TOS by engaging in a targeted attack and bullying of an individual, which isn't his first time. The specific content of that attack was never mentioned.

I really wish every american would take a class on the First Ammendment. Or just read the damn thing. Freedom of speech does not equal free from consequences. And the First Ammendment has to do with congress passing laws about speech and punishing people for aaying stuff. It does not say a person can violate a company or websites rules and harass and abuse a person. It doesnt say that an independent business can not punish an employee for being a POS. It doesnt say, "Say what you want whereever you want when you want without consequences."
