The New Ghostbusters - Part 10

When did the title become "Ghostbusters: Answer the Call" instead of just "Ghostbusters"?
Oddly enough, Warner Bros pulled something similar when Edge of Tomorrow came out on Blu-Ray and for some reason they smashed the "Live Die Repeat" tagline as part of the actual title. It was dumb.

I was about to say, it seems like the Edge of Tomorrow thing all over again.

Watching the red letter review, looks like the movie is even worst than I imagine, but one bit I just can't believe is correct: They don't catch ONE ghost in the movie? (one catch they release)

I read an article in which the author thought they did it so people wouldn't have to refer it as "No. That's the bad on"

Answer the call though WTH does that even have to do with it.

Who ya gonna call? Maybe? Just maybe? You know, they'll be answering the call on the other line....

"Answer the call, we know we can't say who you gonna call 'cause the answer no one. Please, we are begging you, answer the call."

Pretty much.

They should start the Ghosts Rights Movement. Let the ghosts be free. :woot:

Something like that happens in the fan film Return of the Ghostbusters. It's really good. I suggest people watch it if they haven't already.

I also believe it's in continuity with the video game and comic books, so also technically the first two movies.

Funny enough that fan film came before the comics and VG, however there's an actual reference to it in the game. In the fan film, one of the guys played a character called Ed Spengler, and was supposed to be Egon's nephew. In the game, you can see a child's drawing that says "To Uncle Egon, love Ed."

Yeh, I'm pretty sure Ed is referenced in the comics as some point to. And since they take place in like 1994 now(probably, think they've had two official christmases's since it started), it's a nice fun thing.

Of course it also makes the Freddy Vs Ghostbusters film in continuity. So Freddy and Jason are in continuity, which makes some version of Ash from Evil De... I'll stop now, it's getting silly.

Well now that you mention it, yeah and the one they released attacked Bill Murray and who knows who else as it flew away.

They likely put the RT rating on there so people who may not have seen the movie in theaters will check it out on dvd, possibly like it and tell others to check it out and it will may help with whatever sony wanna do with the ghostbusters franchise.

Overall i still think Sony messed up with their damage control, along with the director and cast acting like victims, you are better off not telling your audience if you don't see the movie you are sexist because guess what? they won't see your movie!

Dude, as someone who's actually saw the movie and regrets it deeply, Mike's not a fool on this regard. It's as bad as everyone says it is.

If he honestly thinks it's the worst piece of **** he has ever seen he either hasn't seen many films or he is being hyperbolic like most people that hated this film. Disliking this film is one thing and perfectly fine, but calling it the worst POS is pure hyperbole. There are plenty of worse films out there with much much worse production values.

The irony is that all of those titles are above the certified fresh threshold of 75%. The only reason Ghostbusters has that certification is that its percentage was above 75% at the time it had enough reviews to qualify for the certification. And you don't lose the certification unless you go beneath 70%.

What I find to be odd is that the top critic rating is fresh as well and yet it's at 59% percent and according to Rotten Tomatoes, if a movie is 59% percent or lower then it counts as rotten.

It's just common sense and sadly most of the effort went into this 'fight' with trolls and haters instead of trying to appeal to the general audience.

That symbol doesn't adjust when you change to the top critic rating.

That's because they slapped the certified fresh label on it when it still had a relatively low amount of reviews, and the % was in the 70s.

The only call they answered with this movie was the call of nature because they p*ssed all over the legacy of the original Ghostbusters. So, ironically, a very fitting title.

It was always "Answer the Call" but Feig didn't want it in the beginning intro.

The top critic percentage was actually lower when that happened than what it is now.

with the GB remake (not reboot mind you as there is no such thing as a reboot) being a big flop, Sometimes it's better to kill something than to let it suffer and should leave well enough alone.

Ghostbusters by now is like a wounded, half-dead animal and has been for the last 20 years because the only good thing that came out in that time frame for the Franchise was the 2009 video game and the comics/graphic novels.

Everything else? Extreme Ghostbusters was ok, All the other video games (that Extreme Ghostbusters GBA game, Sanctum of Slime or the new one they just released) are horrendous. No movies came out. Nothing else good came out. This unfunny, juvenile, poorly written, poorly paced, sexist, racist, stereotypical and braindead piece of junk remake (not a reboot, no such thing as reboot) that is a disgrace to the originals that breaks the rules and stuff and is a soulless cash-grab without a smart well written script like the original movie which had a brilliant intelligent script, this movie's script goes for lowest common denominator writing and poor pacing. I'm glad it flopped as it's time for Hollywood not to mess with some things of the past as it's not the 80's anymore and let them stay in the past only to be cherished/loved by generations an stick new fresh IPs like John Wick Marvel Studios, Bourne and so on. Jud in Pet Sematary did said "Sometimes dead is better!" and sometimes let sleeping dogs lie. Ain't Jud Crandall right?
