This thread is filled with so much hate and anger and skepticism. It's amazing that some of you would continue to come in here day after day all this time. To discuss something that some of you have already decided is a horrible unecessary idea that you don't care about.

I feel like sometimes the people who have the most energy in any fandom are the people who dislike or hate things as opposed to the fans that embrace or give things a chance. It's pretty sad honestly when you think about how things are nowadays and how some people function. It's really a shame.

This movie will be what it is. I'm not a fan of the route they're going. Personally I wish they would've gone the Episode VII route with a hand-off to a new group, and special tribute to Ramis. They've already got most of the original cast making cameos.

What I find interesting though is the look they're going for. The jumpsuits are forgivable, but Ecto has a bunch of crap on top without any flash, and the new packs look like they're strapping a combination box fan toolbox on their backs.

Even fan made ectos that aren't 59 miller& meteor's get the look right where this doesn't.

Most people were looking for an extension of the original story that respects the source material and the producers missed that part. Why is this so hard for them to get?

You hit the nail right one the head. Especially with the Episode VII comparison. There's really not much excuse for the approach they took. The approach Akroyd and Co. (Murray not included) had been pushing for the better part of the last 20 years could have worked, and was what everyone expected.


I don't really want hate on this movie or ts approach, but it's really hard not to be disappointed and disagree with it when you know what could (and probably should) have been. And the fact that it just doesn't sound very good just makes it worse.

I'm incredibly skeptical of the film. The only interesting thing left for me - action and apparitions designs. With modern technology and CGI it should be fun (hopefully?).

Well to be honest the series is horror based, there just happens to be comedic characters in it.

Well, there's not much to judge, but from what we can see, it looks like a pure action film from the 3 seconds of footage and few pics. But of course, that's not nearly enough to judge.

And I know it sounds completely opposite of what we know from the director and actors, but I'm just not getting a comedy vibe from it. Although, that can easily change once we see the full trailer.

Why would they show a trailer tease three weeks in advance? They should drop the full trailer a few days after an announcement. Furthermore, Melissa McCarthy hosted SNL last night, which meant that three out of the four main cast members were present last night and they didn't even mention the movie. They missed an opportunity there.

It still seems forced. It's not like October 21, 2015 for Back to the Future 2. Nobody remembered that line from Ghostbusters II until recently. If they wanted to tie into it so bad, why not just release a full trailer today?

B roll for Amazing Spider-Man 2 is not gonna get people excited. Just show a proton pack heating up or Ecto 1 lights.

I'm watching on a small screen so maybe I missed someting, but I saw police and military footage. All which looked generic.

Just having that logo with the date would be better. I liked the piano cue.

There's a shot of a couple of Ecto-1's swinging into the street, and you can see the 'busters running toward something. In another, you see them surrounded by police and military types.

Speaking of - are they still fighting the ghosts of dead criminals, or has that been thrown out?

I wasn't being serious buddy... i was just highlighting how it was a poor attempt to set the movie up

Same logo, similar aesthetics, theme tune thrown in..... character seem exactly the same, just female..... why oh why couldn't they have taken it in a different direction and totally rebooted it and been original or keep it in the same universe and expand the mythos.

Not really much to talk about though, i just feel this is either really bad, or great.. but leaning towards bad - i'm bitter, don't get me wrong, i admit that - this is not the film i had hoped... just from what we have heard etc - however, more than likely to be proven wrong and happy to be.

So, with that in mind, let's try.... the army are involved - what could it possibly be, to have the army and cops stand on guard, ready... in the city like that?
