If it's a giant Trex, I don't know, man? Weak! I wanna see some more original and supernatural takes on ghosts like the original. Something otherworldly, not something "worldly".

But that's just me.

I did too. I actually liked the tease. Its bringing the audience into the GB world of 2016 which is a different world , and certainly NYC , of the NYC in the eighties of the original films. It ends with the iconic symbol and the notes of the Ray Parker song.

You hit the nail right one the head. Especially with the Episode VII comparison. There's really not much excuse for the approach they took. The approach Akroyd and Co. (Murray not included) had been pushing for the better part of the last 20 years could have worked, and was what everyone expected.

I don't really want hate on this movie or ts approach, but it's really hard not to be disappointed and disagree with it when you know what could (and probably should) have been. And the fact that it just doesn't sound very good just makes it worse.

And what kills me really is that they had all the pieces to get it right: This is me after 20 minutes.

After the S of L incident Egon goes off to government research. Ray maybe goes with him or ends up back at the Occult book store. Winston opens a machine shop. Peter and Dana raise Oscar, maybe some other kid too. How about a sister?

Accident. Egon sends something to Oscar. Oscar has kept in touch because he's fascinated by what happened to him under Vigo. Oscar forms his own crew. Peter makes the introductions. They see Ray for research and Winston to get the equipment up and running.

In keeping with the tradition of govn't difficulty I'd also like to suggest the business folded due to IRS issues.

Looks like an updated version of the police escort disaster sequences from the original. It was worth it for the Jurassic Worldesque piano GB sting. I like the silver on the logo.

Looks like Amazing Spider-Man 2 and every other action film in New York. I dig the piano cue, but that teaser was friggin weak.

It's really not that difficult to tease elements of Ghostbusters. The marketing needs to step it up. You wanna make people pay see the movie Sony

Obviously. But the first footage you show is cops and military? Come on.

This thing is gonna get millions of hits and the majority is not gonna be happy or impressed with it. They needed something cool, not something that could be from any movie footage. Be it slime, proton packs, ecto1, the alarm, phone calls, a fun GB commercial etc. There's a better way to tease this material.

Outside of some decent posters, marketing has been weak. The toy creature designs have been the most exciting thing.

I think what will happen next after the police and army set up the Ghost Busters will walk out casually with a "we got this" attitude and probably making jokes.

In a sense the teaser4teaser is playing with the who you gonna call tag line..police? Army? Nah the ghost busters

Oh I get that, it's just poorly done with generic footage. Seen this announcement for trailers done with a ton of films now, many of which were stronger at gaining positive interest. It's standard now.

The upcoming trailer needs to be rad. This movie has far too much negativity that's pretty much Fant4stic level. To have a weak teaser for teasers like this 3 weeks ahead of any decent footage will only build more hate. They should release another short spot so this one doesn't get all the attention. Like something quickly giving us first looks at characters, or showcasing the new gear.

''First look''? We've seen what the characters look like, they've had their own posters and Feig posted pics of some of the new gear on Twitter ages ago.

I get that people don't like teasers, but that's exactly what they are and you're talking about the film right? Job done. It's only 3 weeks away, let's not completely right off the film just yet.

Been feeling antsy about this film lately, so I dusted off the Ghostbusters game on my Xbox last night and played for like 4 hours. I forgot how much I loved that game. The music, the sound effects, the voices, the ghosts... So good.

Of course, Murray sounds like he's doing an impersonation of Garfield doing an impersonation of Venkman, but still... It's so comforting to see and hear the original cast busting ghosts the way I remember as a kid.

I'm going to see this new one no matter what because I'm a diehard GB fan. It doesn't look like McCarthey will be doing her usual, "I'm fat and loud and obnoxious" schtick like she does with everything else (including her upcoming "The Boss" movie, which looks like more of the same). I just hope Leslie Jones doesn't become the token "I'm loud and obnoxious" character instead. These women are all capable of being funny, but when they veer into cartoon characters, it stops being funny.

Cautiously optimistic that they'll make a decent GB flick.
