The New Ghostbusters - Part 6

This is the sadest thread. I've never ever seen fans complain more about a movie even before it was made or details were given out.

Check out the Ultimate Spier-Man TV show threads if you want sad. The people who do enjoy it can't really discuss it because of all the haters of it.

F4, Robocop, Evil Dead and Jem come to mind.

This thread has always been either people whining or people whining about people whining. Your either supposed to hate everything or love everything. Which just leads to everyone clashing. Rarely is there any constructive discussion about the film one way or the other.

If this movie is good I wonder how all the people hating on it now will react.

I'd assume most will easily forgive it or stay quiet, with a few who just can't get over the changes from the original still bashing it. If it completely sucks there will be a some claiming it's "not that bad" with many who were backing it up gone.

I'm not willing to back this up until I see a trailer. All I will say is none of the news has turned me off yet. Except that god awful white logo ghost toy. I'm hoping it's just a ****** toy design and it looks better in the film.

I havn't liked anything but the ghosts and Mckinnon. I don't get the logo ghost hate at all :funny:

We really need that trailer, it's difficult to know wtf to think. While Feig's films are great, Sony does not exactly have alot of my confidence right now as a film studio.

I think the Logo Ghost is actually a good sign that they have not abandon the cartoony/muppet nature of the ghosts.

I don't and cannot believe that the cartoon is more influential than the films

There is a good number of people who were first exposed to the cartoons over the movies. First exposure is the strongest. When I was a kid, I preferred the cartoon to the movies. So, for that generation of people, there is nothing wrong with pulling from the cartoons as well.

Did you guys see the Stay-Puft figure? At first glance it looks like just another Stay-Puft toy. Take a closer look, he has stretch marks and seams. Like a parade float.

I'm going to assume the float gets possessed.

I think I heard a rumor that Stay Puft is just an easter egg awhile back. But it looks like him and Mayhem are the two larger ghosts being sold as toys for the film so maybe there is something more.

I know the pro remake people here all disagreed but I was hoping they would bring back Stay Puft somehow. Outside of my personal preference audiences are gonna expect the iconic stuff like him and Slimer one way or the other, while toy companys will want to capitalize on whats always sold for them for decades. The whole argument that people were suddenly gonna look at this remake like it's own thing away from the original was never gonna happen as long as this was called Ghostbusters. Tough movie and balancing act to pull off here, if they do so they deserve alot of credit. Mimicking all the story beats while only changing the character names and designs won't go well. But neither will changing everything.

It's been mentioned on a few sites that the logo ghost [BLACKOUT] starts small but gets "stay puft big" [/BLACKOUT] btw.

But will he dance?

Odd name, but the villain being the ghost in the logo is hilarious.

^ Maybe the writers were asked to choose and it just popped in there . . . .

Good for you.

Please stop whining that other people don't share the same sentiment. For some of us the nonsense we've seen reported up to this point has been a complete turn off.

The sick feeling in my stomach is telling me their going to recycle that in this one.

The logo being an actual ghost, makes sense... in a way, just hope it's handled properly.

Wasn't there a rumor that the main villain [BLACKOUT]possessed an entire police army and makes them do a big dance number? [/BLACKOUT]

Are people seriously bothered by the look of the big ghost villain? It makes perfect sense. Is new but at the same time comes from stuff we've already seen before. Is the perfect mixture.
I actually find it to be one of the best things I've seen about this movie so far.

I'm wasn't whining, I was having a discussion with def28.

The red demon thing? It looks like it would fit right in with the Extreme Ghostbusters series. I like it, but I could see why others might not care for it.
