Correct. Rachel Summers' parents were Scott and Jean from Earth 811. Cable's parents were Scott and Jean's clone Madelyne. Stryfe is Cable's clone. X-Man had no parents so much as Scott and Jean from Earth 295 were his DNA donors. Ruby Summers comes from what appears to be the future of Earth 616, but her mom will be Emma Frost.

Scott and Jean raised Cable, though, so emotionally speaking she's far more his mother than Madelyne is. I have no problems with him considering her as such. She has all of Maddie's memories, in any case.

Nate, though? Nate's just creepy.

Anyhow... So I LOVED Bendis's Daredevil but haven't read it since. Was Brubaker's run just as good? And how long did it go issue count-wise?

My local Half-Priced books has a good chunk of his earlier stuff that I'm thinking about picking up. Haven't decided yet.

...the hell? Did Mystique's origin change drastically or did Fox News not bother watching the X-Men movie?

Fox News is wrong about virtually everything. Why should pop culture be any different?

Yes.

So has Hercules fought Thor and what was (were) the outcome(s)? Is there anything canonical to say who is stronger?

You know what parts of cable and deadpool I liked? The parts with cable.
As much as I love Cable, I couldnt read that series bc I cant stand Deadpool. I thought it was a horrible idea tieing him to DP like that and I was overjoyed when they finally seperated the two

I'd be careful posting that you don't like Deadpool Havok. That can cause riots on the Hype.

You all fail then!!!!

Cable and Deadpool was like the Riggs and Murtaugh of the Marvel Universe. You don't like C&D you don't like Lethal Weapon. Therefore, you fail.

:awesome:

But honestly, I can understand why some people don't like him. His humour is an acquired taste, so to speak.

But I implore any Deadpool doubters to read Joe Kellys run or Cable and Deadpool 13 and 14. Very, very funny. And deceptively deep too. It's like a noir/hard boiled detective story, but with the Deadpool twist.

You -don't- like DP? I hope your car doesn't explode by mistake tomorrow. :cmad:
I HATE Deadpool. Worst character that Marvel has been pushing in the past 2 years. Guy needs to die a death and never show up again. He seriously is the most annoying character out there

and you think I care? LOL...when has that ever stuffed me from posting my opinion.

Yea but I bet you have just seen him when he pops up in other peoples stories and writers who don't know how to write him just make him an annoying motormouth. Like what Loeb is doing in Rulk at the moment. Even I find him annoying in that.

well I read him in parts of C&D which is presumably where he was written well. Prior to that my main exposre to him was in X-force v1, but he's become alot more annoying since then

His old original solo, Joe Kellys run in particular, was brilliant though. Widely regarded as one of the good things to come out of the 90s.

And reading his appearances in the old x-force books I don't blame ya for hating him.

But imagine if your favourite character, Havok right? Was written by someone who doesn't really have a clue on how to write him, or just writes him as a plot device or comic relief. That's what happens to Deadpool, A LOT. Especially these days with him becoming popular. He turns up in more books, and the people just don't know how to write him.

Like I said I'd recommend Joe Kellys run to anyone who doubts the actual "character" of Deadpool. He ain't just some one dimensional loud mouth. But hey you might not even like that, no worries.

The way I'd describe Deadpool (when written right) is that he is one of those clowns that's laughing on the outside, but crying on the inside.

Havok's not my favorite chaacter but I get your point. Iceman is one of my favorites and he tends to be written as a buffoon who shows up for jokes and nothing else. All the chracterization he recieved in the 90s seems to have been thrown out the window.

I just see Deadpool as a Spidey plus Wolverine plus Punisher type deal...
Made to kill other people, at the same time spit jokes
Not a bad thing at all... Hope the movie turns out alright

Yea that's what makes him a fun, bad ass character.

But really, he's pretty tragic. The only issue to touch on that recently is 15 though. He's a victim of his own success in that regard.

Back when Joe Kelly had to build the character up he was multi faceted. Not just a wise ass killer.

They fought in Hercules' first appearance and stalemated. They also had an arm-wrestling match in that issue and stalemated again, neither one's arm moving at all.

They also fought in Thor: Blood Oath and Herc was winning because they agreed to fight barehanded, but they called it off or got interrupted or something. I remember the fight didn't end with an undisputed winner.

So the consensus seems to be that they're equal in strength, Herc is a more skilled barehanded fighter (since the Greeks invented wrestling), and Thor with Mjolnir would at least break even with Herc.

He's not alone. I am also not fond of Deadpool.
DEAD!!!

Here's good news. Deadpool literally cannot die. :awesome:

Yeah, Thor gets the same treatment. Any book he's in outside of his own, he's basically "THOR SMASH!!"

Wrong!! Thor won the fight because of his godly domain of thunder and lightning, which was commented on by the Greek pantheon. Hercules was indeed the better hand to hand fighter, but Thor went all, "Taste my lightning mutha f***a!!"
