Because the sentinel police state is only now starting in the Summers Rebellion future. If this were also Rachel's timeline, this all would've happened decades ago. Unless they created a sentinel police state, disbanded the sentinels, and only now started launching the purple bastards again.

Screw it. Maybe this is Rachel's future too.

meh,...
Someone needs to lock all the xmen writers in one room to duke all this stuff out.

Well, there are differences, sure, but my point was that it seemed like all three futures had merged into the one main future we've seen in Messiah Complex and X-Factor. It's like the X-writers decided it was too troublesome to keep track of the myriad possible futures for the X-Men, so they decided to streamline it and just toss in whatever elements they liked from the various possible futures we've seen before while adding their own bits and pieces.

Which, frankly, I couldn't blame them for.

Rachel's timeline diverged from 616 during the battle on the moon. In 616 Cyclops was struck down first so that the shock released the Phoenix. In Rachels' timeline Jean was struck down first and had the telepathic portion of her brain burned out by the Shiar.

That's right, Rachel's real mom never fully succumbed to the Dark Phoenix like 616 Jean did. Apparently her mom was the better Jean. Maybe she should stop transferring her feelings onto this lesser 616 broad who keeps dieing and loses her husband to the freaking White Queen.

Maybe she should just die and be entirely forgotten. Save us all the headaches associated with her crappy personality and timeline shenanigans.

Only if we get Ruby Summers in exchange.

Who Rachel? I hated that CC even brought her back to the X-men. She always came across as Jean-lite, right down to the costumes, codenames, powers, etc...

She's whinier than Jean is. Therefore, I hate her.
I hate how they write her as if she's 8 years old when she's a damn adult. She gets really annoying when she cries and whines about Cyclops and Emma as if he owes her anything. Thankfully she's in space so we havent had to endure any of those tantrums in a while

Any of you guys read Ghost Rider: Road to Damnation? Been reading it the last couple days. Probably the best art work I've ever seen in a comic book, no hyperbole. The story ain't too shabby either.

I plan on getting the TPB. I'm a Son of Satan fan from his Defenders days. Any sign of Eric Simon Payne?

:thing: :doom: :thing:

I really want Rachel to come back from space a little more mature, and maybe accepting that 616 Jean and Scott aren't her parents. There's a reason Scott doesn't really give a damn what Rachel thinks of his relationship, and that's because he has the clarity of mind to remember that she's not his daughter. God only knows why Jean humored the girl after a while.

Well I'm not a regular Rider reader, so na I don't know.

Just heard good things about RtD so picked it up. Wasn't disappointed.

It's like really macabre. Has him trying to escape hell, fighting demons and archangels, the whole shebang.

Jean and Rachel only had 2 positive interactions. During Fatal Attractions, Jean invited her to her wedding and then Rachel attended it. After that Rachel was lost in the timestream and by the time she came back to the X-men, Jean was dead. Prior to FA, Jean rejected her. Maybe Jean should have left it at that bc Rachel ran with it and has been throwing hissy fits since bc Scott never quite gave her the same small bit of attention. Too bad she isnt like Nate Grey. He wasnt whining and crying about Scott/Jean. The 3 of them had a respect for each other and you where they stood without trying to develop some fake connection just bc they have a biological tie

Well I did say "after a while." The nail in the coffin was during Claremont's most recent run on Uncanny (the XSE stories), where it turned out Jean had left a holographic message behind for Rachel saying that she's proud to have her as a daughter, then left that green/yellow miniskirt number for her to have. God only knows why Jean assumed Rachel would ever get the message, since she thought Rachel was stuck in the future and/or dead at that point. Jean was stupid for encouraging Rachel like that. Throughout Claremont's run, Rachel kept crying about her mommy being dead. That b****'s mom died when she was 12. She needs to accept that death and let go of this alternate version who never had any kids.

Let's not talk about Nate Grey's relationship with his alternate parents/DNA donors. Then we'd have to bring up the disturbingly intimate relationship he had with Cable's mom.

Is it worth getting the Giant Sized Hulk Hardcover? I wanna get the Raging Thunder thingy inside it, just wondering if the other issues collected is worth a HC purchase, because i also see the single issues around..

What is the best Deadpool series to read, and where should I start (issue, arc). Also, any idea how the new Deadpool team-up series will be?

Joe Kelly's run is collected in the Deadpool classic TPBs. Kelly's run was great. He did 1 to 33 in his original series. Plus the Deadpool/Daredevil Annuel (one of my favourite comics ever) and the Deadpool/Death Annuel, which are also in the the Deadpool classic collections.

I think his new series by Way has been pretty good so far too. A couple of duds though. Check out the Secret Invasion TPB to get a feel of things, see if you like it.

And the first Deadpool Team Up is with Herc, so it should be awesome.

The first volume of that is the one where the cover's been illustrated by Liefeld, right? :csad:

Hmm I don't think he ever did any art for Deadpools actual series. It was Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness.

Liefeld may of done the covers for Circle Chase though, they are packed away somewhere at the mo so can't be sure.

Deadpool Classic does indeed have Liefeld covers. Just try to ignore them. The content is actually awesome because Joe Kelly is the greatest Deadpool writer who ever lived.
