Yea I agree. Super surprising really.

I liked Benson's work on Suicide Kings too.

Deadpool Classic does indeed have Liefeld covers. Just try to ignore them. The content is actually awesome because Joe Kelly is the greatest Deadpool writer who ever lived.

Man, that's so true its not even funny.

Too many writers just write him as a joke-machine without any sort of complexity or depth. Look at the issue when Wade found out Weasel had been visiting Blind Al behind his back - seeing Deadpool completely lose his cool and humor was horrifying.. I think that's honestly one of the best issues of any comic ever.

Yea that was a great scene.

Shows how utterly twisted and un-trust worthy he is, him thinking they were stabbing him in the back, but really, they were meeting up because they cared about him and were worried.

"But Mr Wilson, I don't think I can do that..."

"Sure you can Bob, I'll teach you...with THIS!"

"W-whats that?"

"My teaching stick"

Comedy gold.

Bob seems like a good addition to the supporting cast.

Yeah, that's what I was saying. Hope Way brings back the rest, so far he's done an excellent job of mixing comedy, action, and actually taking into account deadpool's insane continuity.

Well, the coast is clear. Way has somehow managed to get over the suck and is channelling some of that Bullseye: Greatest hits mojo.

i dunno though. one of the selling points for me was that deadpool wasn't as well known at the time, so only the people that read the book had anything to say about it. now every dumbass who saw wolverine thinks they know the character flat and wants to weigh in on it. maybe one day, but prob not soon.

though i did see a recent dp cover meant to evoke the old dawn of the dead poster and i almost picked it up for that

In other words, "I'm going to feign disinterest because he's popular now, and I somehow think it's better to be entertained by things that nobody likes." I bet you stopped listening to one of your favorite bands as soon as they had a #1 single.

no. i'm not avoiding dp, i'm just not terribly interested at the moment. and your judgment of my judgment is in no way hypocritical at all. good day sir.

Making a judgement about making any kind of judgement is hypocritical. Making a judgement about the reasons someone else made a judgement isn't. You essentially said that one of the drawing points for reading about Deadpool was that he wasn't well known, but you're not interested in reading about him now because too many people want to talk about him after seeing the Wolverine movie.

That's basically avoiding something you might like just because it's popular.

ok, sure, whatever. but like i said, i stopped reading reading the character when cable and deadpool got canceled which was about a year (maybe more)before the wolverine movie came out. it's just that the influx of newer fans of the character is less than a selling point foe to get on the book. new fans didn't run me off of deadpool, i left the camp before they started showing up

You know what parts of cable and deadpool I liked? The parts with cable.

i liked having cable there, but i didn't like when he was the focus of the book (which was most of the time) he's still a great straight man and foil for deadpool imo

I misspoke, corrected now. Cable sucked in that series, he was so damn boring. And rather than give his character anything they just kept upping his powerlevels so he became superman and his wacky murdering friend.

I kinda wonder why Marvel hasn't done a story on modern day slavery? With the rise of American females being carted off to countries to be used like toilet paper - empowered by the combination of females between 14 and 40 believing that they can do what they want,.. go where they want w/o the precautions the AVERAGE male takes into consideration -AND- the wasted time believing they went off on their own and will come back eventually.............

We remain clueless because we accept it being done to women coming INTO this country,.. or who live BELOW the poverty level in the first place. Seriously can anyone truly believe that so many women from Europe came to America to be pole dancers and prostitutes?

It would be a good vehicle for the street level heroes to pick up on first - maybe a Punisher or Melter story. Then let it expand into a group or two - I saw the X-men start off in that direction before they decided to live on a floating Island,.. but it was dropped.

ANYWAY it's probably a never be since Disney now has it's fingers in Marvel.

V.

Okay, picking up on a discussion from earlier, let me get this straight: no actual children were ever conceived between 616 Scott Summers and 616 Jean Grey?

Correct. Rachel Summers' parents were Scott and Jean from Earth 811. Cable's parents were Scott and Jean's clone Madelyne. Stryfe is Cable's clone. X-Man had no parents so much as Scott and Jean from Earth 295 were his DNA donors. Ruby Summers comes from what appears to be the future of Earth 616, but her mom will be Emma Frost.

I stumbled across an interesting bit of trivia recently. Emma Frost is listed under the villains category at Marvel.com .
