Are you talking about the fight in Herc's first appearance? I haven't actually read that one, but I thought they stalemated. My bad.

Apparently there are some other fights between the two of them as well. Reminds me that I really gotta get around to actually reading through all the early stuff I missed in Thor's first series due to not being born and stuff.

Blood Oath. Remember when Hermes asked Zeus why he didn't stop Thor from calling down the lightning? Zeus said it was Thor's birthright as well.

And yeah, that whole not existing yet sorta hindered things.

Okay, I skimmed the battles I know they had for sure.

Thor Annual #1: Herc and Thor fight over who gets to cross a bridge first (I'm not kidding) and stalemate. Zeus breaks up the fight and declares both honorable warriors.

Journey into Mystery #125/Thor #126: Herc and Thor fight because Thor thinks Jane Foster left him for Herc and Herc was pissed because Thor ignored him to confront Jane. They stalemate for most of the battle but Odin drains half of Thor's strength because Thor dared to defy Odin and return to Jane after Odin forbade it, so Hercules beats the ever-loving s*** out of Thor.

Thor: Blooad Oath #3-4: Thor and Herc fight because Thor has to retrieve Dionysus' pig, which makes wine and which Hercules had been using to get ridiculously drunk for a while by that point. Herc, in his drunken stupor, insults and then attacks Thor. He sobers up over the course of the fight and ultimately manages to get Thor in a headlock that very nearly knocks Thor out, but Thor uses lightning to daze Herc instead.

Have Doc Ock and Omega Red ever teamed up for dual tenatacled villainy? :o

Is Beast/Hank McCoy currently alive or dead? If alive is he in any books curently?

Have there been any heroes or villains whos efirst name was Ernie? :awesome:

Has Silver Sable been used at all lately within the regular Marvel Universe?

He's alive. He's one of the few X-Men who has never died, I think. He's currently in the comic Uncanny X-Men, but he's about to star in a comic titled S.W.O.R.D.

Wow, way to misrepresent the issue, variant cover.

:argh:

Yeah, it's cool. I like Beast's costume now. I think he's switching to a less detailed gray jumpsuit for SWORD, though. :csad:

No, but he'll probably get much better resources than they have at Graymalkin or Utopia or wherever the X-Men are staying this week, what with all the alien tech SWORD must confiscate.

SWORD is a sister agency to SHIELD and ARMOR. Where SHIELD used to protect the world from terrestrial threats and ARMOR protects the world from alternate reality threats, SWORD protects the world from extraterrestrial threats. They have a super-advanced base in Earth's orbit called the Peak, where they deal with aliens they spot coming to Earth or other threats that might harm Earth.

So SWORD's kind of got one foot in the cosmic arena and one foot still on Earth, since they're only concerned with cosmic threats to Earth. I doubt we'll see Agent Brand or Beast palling around with Nova or the Guardians anytime soon, since they're way out in deep space dealing with threats to the entire universe.

Oh, fun fact: Beta Ray Bill is also staying on the Peak for the time being after his Godhunter mini-series.

Jesus that reminded how much I hate Beast's "secondary mutation". Worst thing they ever did to an X-character

Cool. Yea I remember that place from Godhunter now.

Not a fan myself, but I'd say what they've done to Archangel lately is worse. At least Hank's characterization's been okay. I like that he's the (seemingly lone) voice of morality amongst the increasingly morally ambiguous X-Men now. It makes perfect sense that Hank would hit a breaking point, decide Scott's taking the X-Men into directions that he never signed on for, and dump their asses to do super-science with his sexy alien girlfriend. :awesome:

I'm absolutely sure the Japanese have covered this somewhere. Go look there. Make sure your wife/girlfriend/whatever and children aren't in the room though.

You don't like the shift from the caregiving, anti-violent Mutantes Sans Frontières, to the exremely short tempered, murderous, vile word spitting Archangel?

Yeah, no. I also don't like how he doesn't feel guilty about murdering people or show any desire to fix himself. :whatever:

Bill deals with Agent Brand and SWORD throughout Godhunter. He gets the information on Galactus' whereabouts from Brand in exchange for a favor to be repayed whenever she wants and then he ends the series back at the Peak with his new gal-pal. The implication seemed to be that they'd be staying there for the foreseeable future. I hope it's because Gillen plans to use Bill in his SWORD series, but Bill hasn't been featured in any promo art or anything, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Bill's story might not turn out exactly how he planned. The first story arc solicited in SWORD is that SWORD and the UN are kicking every single alien off the planet. I'm expecting to see a lot of "who's who" cameos of our favorite alien good guys getting hunted down and/or asked to leave.
